Portsmouth to Portmeirion May 2019 (and from France ...)
Discussion
Hello
We'll travel from Lyon to Portmeirion ( ) during May 2019 (and of course we'll visit other places in Wales such as Snowdonia National Park, Pembrokeshire coast and Cardiff).
We drive a Caterham 1600K
I'm happy to come back there (first travel in 1977 !! with a Yamaha DT 125 DTF !). My english is always so poor and my mechanical know-how always so .... light.
So I'm looking for any recommandation about garage who could maintain my car, so special, if I had any problem during this trip. Of course I've notice the official dealers, Caterham Williams and Caterham Oakmere, but probably there are some garage in Wales who are able to repair simple breakdowns ?
PM if the forum rules don't allow such advice is probably possible
Any other advice to spend happy holydays with a Caterham in Wales is welcome !
Thanks

I agree Kenrick are excellent, ask for Clive , he owns it. If not ask for Robert his son. Be prepared to talk about cars though.
Have you considered a track day at Anglesey circuit while you’re here. The coastal circuit is particularly good for Caterham’s and there are always some there.

I didn't know about Anglesey circuit. Good idea. I don't plan to go on track but it's a good opportunity to meet some enthusiast people !

"more speed camera Vans there than anywhere else...." : I must remember that ; there are very few in France. Happily I guess there are so many beautiful sceneries to see during this trip : I will particularly enjoy them
"60% of French cameras have been vandalised by Gillet Jeunes" : It began before the Gilets Jaunes. French cameras began to burn, to be painted, to receive garbage bags, .... some months ago when the speed limit was lowered to 80km/h (50 mph).
No, it's difficult to find one which is not out of order, unless on motorways and ring roads of cities like Lyon ....
"Have a great trip! " I'll put some pics here when i'll be back... (or in the dedicated thread if there's one ; otherwise my Facebook profile is Astor Martin and when I travel my pics are public ....)
Thanks once more !
