This seems like a really basic question but one which Caterham spares are not able to help with.

On collecting my 2008 Caterham from the MOT centre yesterday I was told that the lower left (passenger side) engine mounting bolt was missing. This is the cap headed bolt that fixes the engine mount to the engine and is a different size on both sides (I think).

Caterham think this is M10 but are not sure. The mount comes pre-fitted on the engine when you build the car so the bolt does not appear in the parts list! Can anyone tell me the correct bolt size please?

Could you please copy replies to my current email address which is dave@farmerworld.co.uk

Many thanks.

Could someone at least tell me if the k series engines use metric or AF threads for the engine mounts please?

Hi,
My memory is that I did have to fit the engine mounts when building the car. However could be wrong.

Sorry don’t know the answer to your question but would recommend you posting on Blatchat. That forum is a fantastic resource and I would be astonished if you didn’t get the answer there.

As above M10 x 20 or 25 socket headed capscrew, make sure it’s **** tight.
