Afternoon All,

I'm looking for a bit of advice if possible to diagnose an immobiliser issue.
I have a 2014 Caterham Roadsport 140 and as of yesterday the immobiliser appears to be goosed.

Normally the light on the dashboard flashes away steadily (which it still does)
I'd put the key in, turn it to all the way, , the electrics fire up and the speedo jumps.
I'd rub the key fob on the key barrel, immobiliser clicks off, I press the starter button and away we go.

Now when I turn the key all the way, the electrics still fire up and the speedo needle jumps BUT when I rub the fob on the barrel there is a very quiet rapid clicking sound behind the barrel, the immobiliser light then flashes very quickly and I am unable to start the car (nothing happens when push the starter button) The flashing immobiliser light then goes off after about 30 seconds.

Does this look like a faulty / kaput immobiliser or a failing key fob?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ben.

Same symptoms on my K. Frantic clicking and no start.
Naturally, you think the worst but mine was cured with a new fob battery.
Hope it's the same for you.

My fob is one of the sealed unit types with no battery.
Also I have two fobs (one for each set of keys) and neither works.
I'll try the legendary Caterham Customer Service in the morning and see if I get any luck.
