What battery fits?

My numax 896 battery has given up after 7 years so i ordered a new one from Tayna.. same make, same model but it's nearly a centimeter longer.

Anyone know an 896 battery that will fit a caterham? Old one was 180mm x 125mm and car is a 2007 metric and Tayna say all 896 batteries are the same which clearly they're not.

What about the Banner? #53034 maybe?

I was trying to avoid Banner as I only ever read bad things about them, but it might be the safest option.

986 sized batteries are commonly used alternatives and what my car already has but it seems they are not all created equal.

I've read bad things about Banner, but not had any bad experiences of the several Caterhams I've owned with them. In fact one came with the banner very flat indeed and I managed to resurrect it. It last for a couple more years after that so I was quite impressed!

I've had bad experiences with Banner batteries in the past (despite using a CTek) so when the last one failed in October 2019, I put in a Exide battery from Tanya. It's still going strong with no issues so far. According to the invoice it's a Exide E60-N30-A and it was a perfect fit on to the 7's battery tray.

Thanks all. I ended up playing it safe, Tayna swapped the battery for a Banner.

My Numax lasted 8 years with Ctek assistance so we'll see how the Banner compares. If I could have measured exact dimensions of various '896' sized batteries I'd have gone with another of those though. (And lesson learnt that battery standards aren't all that standard)

I will recommend to go with Lithium Battery Marelli 53034 , it is super light only 2kg do you will save 5kg!
It lasted for me 7 years.

Is it the same external dimensions to the standard battery?

It is the same size as the Banner battery
