That looks very very good.

I'm not sure I would have the patience for it however and I have been known to polish a car or two.

Am I right in thinking that you've had to have some of the panels custom made e.g. the metal nose cone?

If so, are the costs adding up or have you been able to get a good deal. I presume that they're more expensive than the carbon fibre equivalent?

Yes, I had the nosecone, rear wings (without the exhuast cutout) and CSR wings made. They where eye wateringly expensive! But there's a lot of labour involved, as you must apreciate.
Credit for the art must go to Geoff Moss at MPH Motor Panels.

I had the chassis stored in a container in U.K. for a year before I managed to get free of work commitments, (I'm a Yacht Skipper Based in Mallorca) to run it down to Geoff's workshop in Liskeard. He insisted on having the car, to make sure everything fit just so.
He had the car for 8 months, fitting it in between other work.
I then flew back to U.K. bought an old LWB Transit van, and drove it down to Mallorca, selling the van the day after arriving, to an ex pat, who had some stuff to take back! smile

Yes it's going to be an exspensive project, but it's a keeper. I'll never sell it now.

Imagine the work that whent into these!

Had a bit of a fettle in the garage this afternoon.
Marked out the holes in one of the rear wings, drilled them thinking "have I done this right" Measure a dozen times drill once!
It's not as if I can bog them up if I drill them wrong!
Then spent ages fileing out the large holes for the Watts link arms.
Had the thing on and off a dozen times before I got enough clearance for the forward arm to sit nice on the chassis boss without catching the flange of the wing.
Gave it a quick flat with the microfine pad, C, F7, and S grade on the Cyclo, before I fit the pipng tomorrow.
Looks like a Seven now. Almost. smile

Popped one side of my aero wishbones on too. (BGD have the other side while they make my brake stuff)

My calipers turned up at BGD last week, so they'll be starting on a 278mm floating disc setup, with alloy bells.
Here are the AP "Radi-Cal" calipers at 1.2kg.
AP don't do a road pad for these, so I'm having the pads made from a larger doner pad with a road compound.

TTFN,
Mick.smile

One of these. 400ish hp and 90 kg fully dressed.

Connected to one of these. Drenth DG400 Geared for 165mph.

Hence all the trouble and expense of getting better stoppers.
Dampers will be interesting too. wink

Oh la la
I did look at those motors but was not convinced for road use
Geared for 167mph at the mo, if we can keep it on the road
Drenth are very nice, Dutch engineering at its best

I think a Seven hits a brick wall at around 160 due to its housebrick aerodynamics. smile Not that I particularly want to do that in a coffin chaped car made out of tin foil!

Arial using the Hartley H1 in the new Atom V8. The 3.0 litre version.
It's got a nice flat torque curve, and is very drivable on road.
I think I'll be going for the 2.8 with a little bit of porting and quite mild cams.
Jack Frost of Holeshot Racing is building them using his own top ends.
He says I should get 420hp.
I heard he's recently built a twin turbo with 1000hp!

The Guys at Drenth are Brilliant! Stefan Olijvie is the Man.

Regards,
Mick.

So you weren't tempted with the 1000hp/450lbft twin turbo H1, coupled to a Drenth MPG box? I suspect it may present a packaging problem with the turbos, but would definitely be lively smile

Incorrigible, I was thinking of a nice bright silver paint. What do you think? smile

Mattmurdock, I need to leave some room for upgrades later!smile

Been at it again today. Got the other rear wing on. These SV's are wide innit!

Couldn't resist a play, and clamped the front wing on to see how it looked.

I'm wondering if I'll have to put the rubber bead around them for the IVA, as Geoff put a lovely rolled edge on them all the way around the inside. It's 3mm. I understand the IVA guidlines say 2.5mm radius?

Looks awesome yes

Is the clamp attached to the wingstay ? If it is I think you've got them on the wrong sides. The cycle wing should be further back than that

BertBert biggrin I have to get some 3M sound deadening material stuck under there, to stop the stones denting it from underneath. It moulds in nicely with a heat gun.

MadHatter7 I have ahem, wide shoulders! smile I found my S3 R300 a bit tight with two in the car, so I like the extra elbow room, bigger "boot" and extra fuel. SV is still lighter than a VX engined car. wink

Incorrigible, not sure I follow you? The picture with Geoff holding the wing next to the car, it isn't attached. confused
