A VW Golf R Mk7 can be had for about £16-18k. Much faster, can be mapped to under 4 seconds to 60mph for 500 quid, and plenty of gadgets.

Excluding the fiesta st, can anything else match it on equipment, price and performance?
Peugeot 208 GTI is well received, but wouldnt do it for me.

Clio RS220 seems much better than the RS200

If you're looking at used anyway with the 2016 Corsa, and have a budget of £15K, i'd have thought the world was your lobster..

Golf GTI, Leon Cupra, Renault RS Megane, Mini Cooper JCW, Golf R, Focus ST

Would you consider something older?

I'm not thinking of an M5 or anything but Astra VXR ticks a lot of boxes - and a Network Q warrenty is pretty good for peace of mind?

Something like this http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2017...

The old model had issues with a piston melting, IIRC. Always the same cylinder catching the heat, mostly in modified cars.

I know the new exhausts are cheaper but I really wish they had kept the triangular exhaust port.
Having thrashed various VXRs on the VXR Power Days, my favourite has always been the Corsa - not the fastest, but the most fun.

I seriously looked for one last year, but the tales of engine woes, chocolate gearboxes and rust really put me off - this was the older model though.

I'd rather an older,Focus ST, Astra VXR (actually meant to be very good), Megane 250/265, Golf R/GTi etc etc for that sort of noney.

I've done those as well and I'd agree - Corsa over the Astra.

Actually Nurburgring edition Corsa over the standard Corsa VXR

But will any of these come with warranty, this is the thing, I could have a golf gti etc but they wouldn't have any warranty..

find me a ph worthy car at least 200bhp with warranty for 15k OR LESS that isn't a fiesta st...

You can get a warranty for any of those cars.

58k mile cars that have been spanked on Lease for two years are still advertised North of £18k, the cheapest advertised DSG is £19,899 with 52k so £16k is hugely optimistic unless it has moon mileage or CAT D.

Also, manual cars won't do sub 4 seconds even remapped. With the Golf R it's all about the DSG and in particular its ability to launch from stand still. Even in DSG form it loses a lot of effectiveness if the wheels are already turning.

From the manufacturer included in the price?

I'm not loaded and everyone knows 3rd party warranties aren't the best.

Corsa VXR Performance pack 2016, 3K miles, and not in Kermit the frog green for £800 less -

Kermit the Frog green rules, though.
Funny, we thought about getting the A45 in the green, but we thought the novelty might wear off.

Each to their own though smile
I do worry about ordering a car in such a colour too - six months later I'd walk out of the front door, look at it sitting there on the driveway and I'd probably just think "fks sake".

Here are a few hot hatches that aren't an ST with around 200bhp less than 3000 miles & at least 2+ years Manufacturer's Warranty & all are 2016 or newer:

Clio RS Lux 200bhp

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

Kia C'eed GT 200bhp (these are an underrated car well worth a test drive) 6+ years warranty on this one

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2017...

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2017...

Citroen DS Performance Edition 210bhp 66 Plate

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

208 GTI Prestige 210bhp (essentially the same as the above)

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

Seat Ibiza Cupra 190bhp

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2017...

Polo GTI (More expensive version of the above with less kit) 190bhp

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...

From the list above I'd have to consider the Kia then the Seat/Citroen (because of their prices) & Peugeot but the surprisingly the Kia would be my first port of call.
