Hi,

We've recently bought a 63 plate Corsa 1.2 for my daughter, and I'm not sure if the radiator fan actually works.

It had a service and the overheat light was flicking on because the cooling system was full of airlocks which eventually sorted itself out. But during my tinkerings I got concerned that if the engine did get too hot the fan wouldn't come on and it might pack in completely. I used the secret squirrel menu and had the temp up to 105 and nothing was happening so I bottled it and turned it off.

Conflicting info on the internet, some saying it should come on between 93 and 98, someone else saying 105 or even 110.

The fan works, it comes on if I bridge the relay contact socket and also if the engine is hot and the aircon is on.

The relay coil is intact, but it doesn't activate if I bridge the contacts on the radiator temp sensor on the bottom of the rad on the driver side.

Again after hours of internet searching I'm not sure if this is the sensor I should be bridging. Is there another one on the water pump or not? if so which set of wires is it out of the numerous that eminate from that area? No-one an any of the other forums seemed to give a definitive answer.

Hope someone here can. cheers.
