Had a break, but got out today with the nice weather and sorted out the rear interior. The sail panels were hanging off and needed excess material to tuck under the window rubber to hold them in. They were recovered and all the other parts screwed back in place.Your having a lot more luck with C J Pony parts than I did BTW...

Next up. fitting the glass and rear seats back in.

The 71-73 flip open fuel cap arrived today, I ordered it from CJ Pony parts on Monday. This is the only flip open cap that will fit the Mach1 honey comb panel. All others are off set.
Also had chance to fit the driver's side remote mirror and washer pipes.
That reminds me of being in LA during a road trip in '92. We were driving an Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera but as it was my 30th birthday I went down to Rent a Wreck and got myself a '72 Mustang convertible 5.0 for the day. Also had chance to fit the driver's side remote mirror and washer pipes.
When I was returning it I had to find a garage that sold the increasingly rare 4* petrol but when I got there, I could not for the life of me find the filler cap. I was going nuts walking round and round the car, scratching my head when a guy pulled up in a beautiful 60s Stingray Corvette.
"Hey Buddy!! it's under the plate!" he yelled.
Sure enough under the spring loaded rear registration plate was the filler cap
Sounds familiar.
When I collected my '71 Mach 1 at the weekend, I needed a brief 'how to' on opening the filler.
Chances are, had I not asked, I'd have held up a queue of people at the filling station. As it happened, I parked between the front and rear pumps to make sure I had plenty of hose to get round the back of the car, much to the slight chagrin of a Porsche driver who pulled in behind me and immediately grabbed the nozzle before I could.

Wow, what an amazing restoration! That really looks fantastic.
I've got a 72 Mustang Convertible but it's not a patch on yours!
