Weirdly you can only get the dark saddle with selected colours not all colours.

When I ordered I asked the dealer how many orders they'd had, she said 5, only 1 of which was a 2.3 ecoboost, and surprisingly (for me anyway) mine was the first ragtop.
I clicked on the bad link and it's Absolute Black Metallic.

I know of another rag top in yellow and a 2.3! Surely if you've got the roof down you NEED to be hearing a V8!

I really don't see the Ecoboost selling here [ETA: at least initially, anyway]. I'm sure people ordering a 'stang are doing it based on a liking for US V8 muscle/pony cars. Considering the superb price of the V8 (and with a manual transmission too) I just don't see the E-B comparing.

Also, regarding the 'only Ford Stores can order them' line you were told - see the bottom paragraph here:- http://www.motortrader.com/automotive-news/ford-si... certainly mine wasn't ordered from a Ford Store.

(Ford really hasn't put out a consistent line on this whole thing so far!!)

PS - If anyone's had the e-mail from Ford US welcoming them to the family, could they post up what it actually says, please?

Anyway, foliedouce, look what I found. You did order yours in red with a ragtop, yes?

Now now, don't get your rollers in a twist smile

Not sure I could squeeze into your suggested model

I'm sort of presuming that once all this ordering business with Ford is sorted that there will be a period where you can change your mind about options before the car is actually built. Well you could when I ordered a Porsche a decade ago.

Just that using the configurator does not give you a true idea of the colours, exterior and interior. I went for black leather as the cartoonish depiction of ceramic looked horrible but seeing it here in an Orange GT Premium on sale in the US, I quite like it.

All my cars have always been conservative and safe so it's time, and at my age this could well be my last new car purchase, to go garish biggrin

As an extra a clip showing all the lighting colours of the interior. I like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irTCx-NZSTQ

Kinda cool. It better come with a dash dimmer though; that's a lot of light in there, especially with that huge screen. Hopefully that can be turned off completely.

That's why I have pretty much every YouTube clip showing an Ingot Silver Mustang bookmarked - especially if it's outdoors!

I can't see why they wouldn't allow changes up until they actually start production.

Let's hope so, and let's hope they let us order the recaro seats as well!

I know the 'f' word is a dirty word on here but are the dealers offering finance as can't find any details on Ford regarding financing the Mustang. Also, how much money, if any, have you all got knocked off the standard price. Just looking at budgeting and what I need to set aside.

To be honest, in putting a deposit down on a car that isn't even being made for at least eight months I didn't expect money off - I didn't discuss it and I don't think it'd have gone very far if I had. That may be me being naive, though - interested in other peoples views on that.

Regarding what discounts may be available later, it all depends on whether Ford keep numbers tightly controlled, or just flood the market. I don't see Ford doing that, though - I think they'll want to keep this as a 'Halo' car in the UK and you don't do that by making thousands of them.

Not sure on finance, but I don't see why they wouldn't offer it if needed, and don't see it as a dirty word either.

I'd echo the above about money off.

The car is a steal at that price and Ford have been inundated with orders, well deposits, many from people who were happy to lay their money down long before we had any idea of price or UK spec.

Can't see Ford offering discounts on a car that sounds like it's demand is far outstripping supply. It's not like there are thousands of them sitting at the docks in Portishead.

I have a horrible feeling that most of us will find out that we are on a very long waiting list and will be given the option of a refund if we don't like the idea of waiting for our cars until 2016 or later. Just my 2p.

I personally am happy to wait (gives me time to find the money) and maybe someone will offer me a fortune for my place on the list or even better, I get to own and drive the car and lose no money on it when I sell a year later.

If the values drop like a stone, it still doesn't bother me as actually plan on making it a keeper and possibly my last new car before I have to give up my licence.

I bought my E36 back in '98 and still have it so you can see that if I like a car I do tend to hang on to it biggrin

So I doubt there will be discounts or favourable finance deals.
