Hi, just checking with any UK owners. Did the 60's mustang come specc'd with rear seatbelt (lap belts) from factory?

Assuming not looking at pics but is there a way to retrofit? I'm considering one but use the rear seats for my kids so was hoping for 3 point seats belts but don't even know its possible with the sloping roof in a fastback...

any help appreciated. Thanks.

My 68 coupe has lap belts in the back from the factory. From what I remember the should be mounting points behind the rear seats on 67 onward Mustangs (not sure if they were on earlier ones) just depended on what was ordered when it was built. If a car doesn't have them it wouldn't be difficult to put some in as the belts are just static lap belts they just need a hole and bolt in.

The belts themselves are easy enough to get hold of in any colour you want.

Not sure about 3 points in a FB, seen it done on a coupe but as you said with the sloping roof line could be more tricky.

Legally I think if the car was never fitted with seat belts in the rear as long as the child is over 3 they are allowed to ride in the back. Having said that I wouldn't allow my kids to ride in a car with no belts legal or not!
