Bored of the incessant rust/underseal paranoia. More to life....like driving these cars and enjoying them, rather than whittering on about this and that. If it bothers you that much, buy a Eurobox. I have yet to see a rotten modern Mustang from SN95 onwards.

I do and specifically Shell V Power or Tesco Momentum whenever possible.

Run all our cars that way, apart from Herby the Shopping Trolley. Herbs just gets normal unleaded....

Oh, the number plate is also very appealing to my childish sense of humour...

Hi there- an absolute newbie here to the forums but looking forward to becoming more involved in discussions - loads of informative stuff picked up already just looking in the window , so to speak !
Last weekend ( end August ) I put down a modest deposit up here with a dealership in Scotland to lock-in a build slot ( early October I’m told ) for a Bullitt with M/R. Reading some of the comments from owners and prospective buyers - I’m aware of the very “real” and frustratingly long wait times.... so,....there’s more than a small doubt in my mind that the delivery date I was given when I parted with my five hundred notes for early January 2020 .....erm, might be just a wee bit Hans Christian Anderson ?? Or have things improved?

Hi yoof, here's a little summary from the general manager from, days ford in Swansea, I was first to order the three allocated on 21/6/28, the two prefers after me have be delivered first quarter 2019, my car was committed to build in Nov 2018, then being built march 19, in may was told won't be here until September 19, so got unhappy and contacted dealer, here's the response.....Hi Ashley,

David my Sales Exec has forwarded on to me your email regarding the huge delay in getting your Mustang Bullitt. I cannot disagree with your comment with regards to you having what feels like the last Bullitt in Swansea.

Where to begin? Your Mustang was the first order taken by ourselves in 2018 along with another two shortly after. Both these others landed with us during Q1 2019, this was when yours was expected. As Q1 2019 progressed the build date for your car moved significantly and then stopped and the build date remained blank. The reason for this has appeared to be the stop in production and the introduction of 2020MY Mustang. This process has taken a few months and is down to Ford’s build scheduling. This has resulted in your Mustang Bullitt being built as a 2020MY with production starting early this month. Your car now has a build date today of the 9th September.

I have read your email to Andy Barratt at Ford UK that you sent on the 20th July and have responded to him accordingly echoing your sentiments on the prolonged build/delivery. I asked that the car be given a further priority build wise and asked whether Ford UK would be offering you anything for your patience.

I do fully understand your frustration over the Bullitt’s delivery. As a dealer we want you to be enjoying the drive and feel of this iconic car rather than waiting for it. You now have my contact details. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me.

Kind Regards,

Hi Dave, I'm rather disappointed and somewhat unhappy at this long wait now. The lead time is grossly misrepresented, verbally I was told match to June, on my order form the date was inked at 21/2/19,  I have made contact with ford also. Am I getting the last Bullitt in Swansea ?  Who is the general manager at days Swansea please?

Regards Ashley.

Hi Ashley,

The production date according to ford is 09/09/2019, We have contacted ford and asked them to prioritise your order and highlighted the long delay when other orders of bullitt have been filled but as of yet we have received no answer.

I think the root cause of most of the order issues is that Ford US are geared up for churning out dealer stock orders and don't seem to understand how to properly handle custom(er) orders - e.g. they'll quite happily cancel an order, put a car in a parking lot with no idea of how they're going to fit a steering wheel, etc just so long as it keeps the production line moving and keeps the dealer lots full of cars nfor people to buy on impulse. In Europe we're used to manufacturers (e.g. BMW) who mainly build to customer order so the process works fine...and get understandably frustrated by Ford's inability to organise a p*ss-up in a brewery.

The moral of the story is to buy a car from dealer stock that's as close to what you want as you can get unless you're willing to put up with the Kafkaesque Ford US processes. Possibly harder to do if you want a Bullitt than a GT....but I know of a least one person on Mustang6G who walked into a dealer, asked about a Bullitt and they had one in stock due to a customer being unable to finance it when it landed at the dealer!

A picture is definitely forming for me here .... I’m certainly getting the impression that Ford ( UK ) don’t have a Scooby Doo as to when a confirmed order - as mine is - will be fulfilled. Frustrating as f@ck .....and I’ve only been waiting a week !!
Seriously, for those who have been waiting for a ridiculously long “overdue build” - you have my sympathies and hopefully for these people some better news lies ahead. I’m not sure if I’m in the same unfortunate position ( as some ) a year from now whether I’ll be able to exhibit the same admirable levels of patience ...

I'm fairly convinced that as a minnow I've been bumped down the list, originally three allocated to Swansea but now total of six and my car is due December or January. But nothing to be done.

I put an order in on 11th July and now have a VIN and have been told the car is due to be built in early November. Delivery to my local dealership is expected to occur by mid-January. Let's see if there are any delays but I'm pretty excited! Although I would have preferred to receive the car after winter as I don't really want to drive it with salt on the road.

I have switched out my Bullitt order for a 2019 Mustang GT with Recaros and Magneride that qualified for Ford's 0% finance offer on 2019 Mustang stock. The offer made too much financial sense to pass up.

There will be a Bullitt with Magneride and Recaros delivered in January 2020 for those interested.

Ha, did almost the same thing!

Had deposit on Bullitt I luckily stumbled across one day only to baulk at the lack of discount and (then) 7.9% apr.

Had put idea to sleep when I saw the 0% offer and, well, I pick this up Saturday:

There seems to be some decent deals on the Bullitt right now. Are they now stock? Or has the lead times reduced finally? Seems a bit of a mess...
