This Camaro on Ebay has been advertised for a few weeks now, I know it needs registering, that's not a problem.
I also know it's had a repair down on side and needs some cosmetics to make good.
It looks good value and I wonder why it hasn't sold, I'm hoping someone on here has given it a good look over and could tell me if it has any serious problems that the vendor isn't mentioning.
I'm 6 hours away otherwise I'd jump in a car and look myself.

Because the seller is dodgy!
For a start this... TRADE ONLY SALE .
All CARS ARE SOLD ON A TRADE TO TRADE BASIS. I.E. NO WARRANTY OR GUARANTEE OF ANY TYPE GIVEN OR IMPLIED. All VEHICLES CAN BE TESTED AT YOUR LEISURE PRIOR TO PURCHASE. ANY INPECTION WELCOME is listed on a few other ebay accounts from the same area and as they under their other guises are traders is illegal or dodgy, they normally try to pass off Mustangs but I guess have moved across to Chevys as word got about that the Mustangs they were trying to sell had history (written off/damage repair etc) with most being 'recently imported from a 'warm dry climate'

My advice...avoid!
Or find out where it it came from and do a lot of research

The car comes from Dubai so no Carfax I'm afraid, I normally google the VIN as that shows up on any previous internet advert salvage or otherwise for a US based vehicle, it didn't show up anything.

Thanks Saleen836, I didn't know they had multiple accounts or the Mustang side of things, I must say it should have sold for that money even if it's had a hard life

No problem, I can't find any listings in thier other names so they are most likely trying to keep ahead and using different id's

it's running at c.50% off the normal price - at this point, I'd also be running, as quickly from this as I could! Seriously dude, you can't even get a V6 for that money (in fact you can't even get a decent V8 in the US for that).

If it looks too good to be true....

This is one of their other ebay id's...
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-MUSTANG-2006-4-6-V...tongue outf:0
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-MUSTANG-2005-4-6-V...tongue outf:0

Read through the listings and it's almost identical word for word.
This is why doing your homework is needed or ask smile

The other thing to check is has import duty/ VAT been paid ?? some people have been well and truly stitched up with some recent imports that have been sneaked in through places like eastern Europe ....

Still for sale, as I said earlier, the vendor told me it came from the Middle East, I googled the VIN, nothing came up as a salvage title ( ads in the States, obligatory to show VIN in any car advert there inc salvage) so I assume it was sold new in Dubai.
It could be rough or has obvious problems, it's been advertised for months at that price, probably had a few viewings and it's still for sale, seller is vague about it's condition.
Quote " Could do with some cosmetic tlc or leave as is . This has been reflected in the asking price , this is the cheapest of its kind anywhere in Europe .

If your after an unblemished example this probably isn’t the car for you."

"Cosmetic TLC" what's that mean ?

cosmetic tender loving care. Hmmmm.... sounds as if it could be rougher than a badger's arse! That being said, surely the only way to know for sure is to take a trip up there for a look?

From memory the seller (while under another name) sold a Mustang which turned out to be in fact 3 or 4 different cars made into 1 !
Ask yourself....
1- why are the cars advertised so cheap?
2- why do they attempt to sell the cars as 'trade sale only with no warranty'
3- why do they have 3/4 or 5 different accounts to sell vehicles

I would have no problem buying a repaired salvage car as long as the seller was open about it and had all documents and photos to prove it was done correctly. Buying a flood damaged car might be a whole different problem as you never know what's lurking around or shorted out after that frown

So I upped my budget and looked at Camaros between 2011 and 2014.
I found a nice one in Lithuania only to contact the guy and found he was a dealer importing salvage cars, then putting different badges on them to make them out to be higher spec cars than they actually were frown

So I then found what I thought was a nice car in Germany, got the carfax and again found out the car was a total loss salvage car imported to Lithuania then sold to Germany bangheadrage

So of the 3 camaros I have seen all 3 are Salvage cars! Thank God for Carfax.

given that the U$/£ exchange-rate has gone in our favour it's worth looking over there I'd have thought

It hasn't though, the exchange rate is against us so buying one in the US and shipping it back isn't cost effective

apologies - I meant now (@ 1.32ish) compared to 6 months ago (@ 1.26ish). OK 3 years ago it was 1.55 so I guess it's all relative!! Thing is though I suspect that if you're looking to buy from the EU then the extra choice from the US and slightly cheaper sale price does a lot to mitigate the extra charges vis-a-vis import taxes and shipping
