If they have winter tires, this is definitely no problem

According to seller, all things work as they should, no bad history, no rust, no crashes, relatively low miles, and with that lovely old 5.0, what a sound!
As it came cheap (relatively) I even expect to have some time to enjoy with not much outlay, and maybe even free motoring at selling time.
We will see

Haha! I don't blame you in fairness... It was a case of needs must for me, as I had to get home to the UK, and that involved driving through snow.

My first Mustang got used in all weathers too, although I did put all season Mud+Snow tyres on it.

It even has a TC (with a VERY high threshold though), as well as a slip diff, with winter tires as good as any modern car.
Just need some restraint at your right foot...
No worse than old beemers up to a E34, and you have been used to a TR6...
Come on, it's fun.

biggrin

Well, that was my last free garage space, so no more for now...

The 17' Mustang will be sold in February or so, to make room for a C2 Corvette.

There have to be some boxes ticked until it is too late, as I missed out on a Fox convertible two years ago, a nice manual with great colour combo, really cheap for 2.5 k, a few things missing, but for 2.5, well, etc., etc., so better get them now!

The SN95 was always a favourite of mine, liked the looks and everything, but was fully committed to the Porsche brigade back then, no 'murrican muscle for me.

Times have changed, and for me most of the older stuff has changed from flaw to virtue, smaller, simpler, nicer sounds, no worries at parking lots, mostly cheap parts, modding possible and so on.

Decided not to miss out on good deals anymore.

The Fox was considered crap in the mid to late nineties, cheap built muscle, but crap.
The SN95 was trying to be upmarket, had better suspension, more refined looks, stiffer shell, a step forward really.

After the buying public realised the 4.6 was initially not very tunable, and Foxes were dirt cheap, the cult for the 5.0s with the huge aftermarket really took off.
Remember, the Fox was long in the tooth already in 87 after the refresh and it had to soldier on for another five years, everybody wanted a new look.
As with 911s, there always seem to be a forgotten generation, but they all catch up sometime, 964s were considered too complicated, 996s too soft, 997.1 is the one with the chocolate engine, you get the idea.
Now the SN95 is the forgotten Mustang, for at least a few years, the lamest after the Mustang II, but prices will harden and rise, just have to wait.
You have to sit out the transition, ride the wave of cheap motoring and sell for the same or more after a bit of fun.

Can't wait for open top driving with a burbling old heap of sheite (have to get the 40 Flowmasters for the correct hollow throaty 5.0 sound) in summer!

And compared to some other members my garage is nothing to write home about.
No GT3 something, no Bentley, no Ferrari, not even a McLaren...

Must try harder.

My GT which I shall not be driving in the snow was delivered and registered on Friday. The driver of the delivery truck sent me a live tracking link when he set off, so for the next two hours I drove my wife absolutely mental as I continually updated her on the progress.

It arrived and as I was putting the number plates on, my darling wife sat in the car, as soon as they were on she fired it up and fked off, leaving me standing outside in the freezing cold wondering wtf I had done.

Luckily she came back about 15 minutes later with a big grin on her face and the car was still in one piece.

Cow. laugh

And as I was picking up my new acquisition today, the weather was fine enough for my ride home on summer tyres...

Has a nice coffee tray in the rear...

Serves you just right

Nürtingen? Never even heard of it!

But it looks like you're right next to where that white and blue one was that I wanted to go and see, you could have looked at it for me laugh

That's what I was quietly suggesting before, to meet at pickup to check the car.
But you had your new one delivered anyway, so maybe next time!
But today morning it was freezing, and I agree with you, no driving in snow.
Besides, be sure to have if you have additional undercoating on your car, if not apply immediately, these cars are built at a price, I've seen US ones after two years with rust issues underneath.

It pays to invest for these little things to keep the smiles up.

Thanks, it's getting new pads and disks and a full service in the next few weeks so I'll have the underseal checked and get it done if it hasn't been already. thumbup

Hi i had a good look under my 2017 GT this year when it was undergoing the French Control Technique before its forth birthday. There is some underseal put on when they come into Europe, but maybe mine was a Friday afternoon job after a heavy pub lunch, as it did not look that consistent and is in only selected areas. However i did not come accross any surface rust or areas of concern when having a look around. I am in the far south east corner of France so we do not get much rain and generally its quite warm. The car is garaged overnight and during the day when at work, but stays outside at the weekend in the mountains. I unfortunately did not have a camera with me so no photos, but based on my findings, of my car, the rusting issue is some years away.

2018 Ecoboost Auto in Orange Fury with factory spoiler + digital dash (and don't forget heated/cooled seats). No mods.

As the EB is no longer available new (in the UK) I wonder if mine is unique in the UK with this spec. and colour. Anyone else?

Heavily salted roads for 6 months do wonders for your lightly coated underside, US models have close to no sealant though, compared to the euro-models, which got at least a light sprinkling

Good to know as mine is an EU model, so hopefully no problems yet. As you say, the salt is the killer and here in the Eifel they bloody love salt!

I don't even know if mine has had any underseal done on it yet but it's going up on a ramp at the weekend so I'll know then.

No big deal though, I got a quote for complete underseal and cavity sealing? from my local Ford garage, 4 - 450€ for the lot, which I find very cheap!

The underseal was very much hit and miss, and earlier S550's are better than later ones.

All the cars came in to either Bremerhaven or Zeebrugge, where they were sprayed with a black underseal, mainly along the sills from what I have seen (probably so when the customer gets on their knees at the side of the car, that's the bit they see).

By 2018 they had pretty much given up on that - my first one in Sept 2018 (pre-facelift) had no underseal, and the second in April 2019 (facelift) also has none.

If its being done on a used car, its all in the prep - cleaning, drying and treating any existing surface rust before sealing.
