Hi everyone,

I live in Switzerland, and am considering buying a 2018 (new model) Ecoboost convertible. I've seen much criticism of the Ecoboost engine, so thought I'd come on here for some advice. Tax for the V8 is quite expensive in Switzerland, and also its difficult to find manual cars - for some reason 90% of cars here are automatic, and personally I just could not imagine buying a Mustang with an auto box.

So I have managed to find a 2018 Ecoboost convertible and was about to buy it when I started to read all the very bad reviews of this engine on here and in reviews. Are they really that bad? My reason for wanting a convertible is that I've had a V6 rental Mustang convertible a few times in California and really enjoyed the experience. I kind of assumed that the driving experience of the Ecoboost and V6 would be similar, but now I'm not so sure - especially when I factor in the difference between roads in the California and Switzerland. Anyone got any insights which might help me in my decision?

Worth joining and having a read up on Mustang6g forum. Has specific sub forums for the ecoboost.

Had an eco convertible if FLA , really hard work, you have to floor it to get any go. I have a GT convertible and love the auto box
Had the 10 speed auto in CA for a month, this June, did 3500 miles. I hope when I upgrade in March the box will be better, my its a quick change but in sport it’s aggressive.
According to reports the auto is wicker as well!
