Hi all, i'm hoping you can give me some advice.

I'm looking for an American Car, and i think i want a genuine Roush factory Mustang, a 427R/428R/429R stage 3.

I've been looking for a while now and they seem to come up in the UK at the £15k-£20k mark already here, and these cars typically seem to be in the 90k miles sort of use, and partial or no service history.

Some questions i have are-

Is the lack of service history 'normal' for a 10 year old american car? I'm thinking when i come to sell it, it'll be over the "magic" 100k miles, and i think i'd have some issues shifting a powerful, complex car with no evidence of servicing except for the stuff i do?

Is 90k miles something i should be worried about? It seems like quite alot of money for cars with that mileage, are there common problems with the mk5's, and the supercharged cars i should be wary of? Do superchargers need rebuilding at these sort of mileages?

What is parts supply like in the UK for the Roush cars? I understand the ford ones are pretty well catered for, but the Roush ones, are they just as easy to get parts for, or will alot of importing of parts be required?

If i was to import my own, how much shoudl i be looking to pay in the US, to give me an approximate on the road price of £18k in the UK (i.e shipping, taxes, vat registering, IVA etc, not including VED and insurance)

Insurance, any recommendations for someone who gives good pricing, and actually knows what a Roush car is?

And finally, if anyone is looking to sell your car, please get in touch with details, mileage, mods, damage/items that need attention, location and price.

Thanks

Matt

....another thing on my mind is that i cant help the feeling that the UK car market is in decline, and this is a niche car in a niche market.
I don't want to buy high and then sell low

What sort of price should i be paying?

Consumable service items are available in the UK.

Roush specific parts can be ordered from Roush UK.

At the price point you're looking at you'd struggle to resell it in the UK.

In order to import one and have it owing you £18,000 by the time it was on the road you'd need to buying it for $15,000.

Roush UK don't really exist any more. Roush sold the business (Roush Technologies Limited) in 2007 and the new company (Revolve Technologies Ltd) changed the name in 2008.
Having acquired Mountune in 2003 the road car business there then shifted to be more Ford RS/ST centred. They may still be able to get Roush parts in but I don't think they'd be that keen.
My company (GT101) bought all their remaining Roush stock from them - if we need more parts we just buy them in from the US. Older and more obscure parts do eventually become unavailable of course.
