So guys really appreciate any advice.... I went today to test drive a 2012 c63 amg, a 2015 c63 amg and a 2017 5.0 V8 Mustang..... the mustang absolutely blew both c63s out of the water... I have an appointment to view a 2012 m5 this week but currently I drive a 430d m sport and looking to keep this as a daily driver... could you guys please tell me what ownership is like on mustang's before I buy. Not worried about fuel economy mainly servicing and tires and things to look out for... the one I'm looking at is 2017 with 11k on the clocks.

What was wrong with the other thread you started on the same topic?

Thought it better to post one under the mustang topic group to find more current owners

Just remember to check the date of registration on the Mustang, some of them are £150 a year road fund and some are £475!

After many German performance cars I finally plumped for an S550 mustang GT in November. without a doubt the most fun & enjoyable car I've ever owned.

Only potential downside of a mustang is if you're in any way shy it might not be the car for you, it gets a LOT of attention!

Do it - I've been fortunate enough to own a wide variety of cars and now have a 5.0 Mustang Convertible and it is great! As mentioned if you're shy this isn't the car for you, I've fitted a cat back Borla exhaust which sounds incredible so it's not something you can go about your business quietly (but for me that's a good thing).

We service and upgrade lots (and lots) of Mustangs. Annual service will cost you around £250 or so.
If you're looking at a 2017 I would definitely advise fitting Michelin PS4S tyres (standard fit from 2018 onwards). The OE Pirellis on 2015 to 2017 cars are pretty awful particularly in wet and/or cold conditions.
Also be ready to catch the modification bug. There is an endless range of upgrades and mods out there.

I always seem to get bored easily of my cars so I think the mods will go along way to keeping me loving the car what are the most common or added mods. I really want to enjoy every mile I drive and from the test yesterday I cant see me being bored any time soon just need to check all the financial aspects and options as I want to keep my current bmw for daily driving and long journeys etc

Most popular options are exhaust (it's a bit quiet) followed by suspension (it's a bit tall) and spacers to compliment the lowering. Then it just depends where you want to go. Lots of aesthetic options and powertrain upgrades all the way to supercharging (we've done around 30 of those). The US culture of manufacturers supporting the aftermarket industry means that there is a bewildering array of brands and options out there.

How much roughly for a supercharger fitted and the associated suspension mods? I’ve got a facelift model and have been tempted with this for a while but heard there have been some issues with doing the supercharger on these?

I did some checking on the super charging options and it's looking to be to be around 10k to get one and get it fitted but I could be way off going to test drive another in the next week. But currently there are only 2 for sale in Northern Ireland and I'm not sure what colour I want (not red) maybe white.

For the facelift you're only off the shelf option is Whipple (which we find to be the easiest kit to fit anyway). This is due to the UK/Euro facelift models having Gasoline Particulate Filters (which the US don't) and so the calibration development hasn't been done by Roush. The Whipple kit starts at £8999 inc VAT and fitting - (apologies to mods if this sounds like I'm advertising) PM me if you need more info.

Guys what is the depreciation like on a mustang. I have a 2015 430d BMW and I'm likely going to trade this in as I cant justify 2 cars and I want to keep monthly payments as low as possible. Probably buy a daily runner in the winter and insure the other half to drive it aswell. But I'm worried that being ford what I pay now I will loss almost everything within a couple of years and I'm maybe going to wait and see how this covid issue will effect car prices

I had 3 tvr, a SLK all convertible and did my research before buying the mustang, it had to be a gt convertible with auto and all the bells and whistles.
Love it ! Black with black wheels and two tone interior.
Depreciation wise, I looked in autotrader and saw exactly what to expect. Bought at two years old 12k miles and took out the ford warranty, transferable .
I traveled 250 miles as the price was around 3 k less ‘up north’ !
I do only 2 k miles a year as the 4x4 convertible shares the mileage.
Mod wise, will only get the exhaust, got hammered with the last Griffith 500, absolutely crap reliability.

So what figures are you suggesting depreciation wise. What would everyone suggest about now given the covid 19 stuff do you think prices will drop and I'm better to wait. Also is a facelift better except for tax what is the other benefits of the newer models. See alot of people discussing the sync 2 and sync 3. I'm really new to looking at everything and trying as much research as possible before I make any decision.

Had a face lift gt in the USA last summer, you have to leave the auto in normal as in sport it is dreadful. Are you thinking convertible, auto ?
Iam trying to find an identical face lift, only option is ‘new’ with 12 month wait.
Don’t have any problem with sync 2.
Have a look at autotrader, simply see cars with same spec, with different ages.
