If the OP is looking at spending 45k, if an auto it will be the new 10 speed. As I mentioned before, I did 5000 miles last summer in the USA, very nice gearbox, just not in sport mode, rather “break your neck “mode. My 6 speed is not quite as good but in sport it is a lot nicer than the 10. I know economy is not really a point but the 10 speed is more economical than the 6.
Once again, each to their own but auto for me.
Did you drive both gearbox combos on the same roads under the same conditions?

Does that really matter? Surely anyone posting on PH after an appropriate drive would be able to draw reasonable conclusions without a BS "roadtest".

If I am reading that deal correctly any mile over 6000 per year will cost you £10? So Do 7000 miles- you owe an additional £10,000? You would need to be very careful with your initial mileage assessment !

Not quite, it is 10 pence per mile over the 6,000.

Of course that’s if you just hand the keys back after 3 years.
Before I bought my mustang I had a Mercedes SLK on a two year deal, didn’t get a credit on 4,000 only for the two years!!

hi, hope you don't mind me butting in!

I'm also looking to buy a Mustang in the next few weeks. I really like the Bullitt, but they only come as a manual and I want an auto.

The 10 spd is probably what I will go for. Don't want anything with mods or stripes. That's not really my thing, so has to be pretty much standard smile

Something like this would suit....I think! https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/10773790?c...

Not a colour I’d personally buy.

There are quite a few cars out there though...

Iam even fussier, I had to have gt convertible, black with two tone leather, black wheels and of course auto. Just wish I could find a secondhand 10 speed with the the same colours to replace my 20000 mile one !

I’m finding the Bullitt pcp deal very tempting, I’m not in a huge rush though, and, there a quite a lot of secondhand cars out there.

In the GT I like, the dark burgundy, and the Grabber blue. smile

Did someone say Grabber Blue?

I realised I HAD to have Grabber Blue when I first saw the colour...
They only made them for the 2017 model year though - so you wouldn't be able to get a facelift in GB.

Continuing the auto vs manual debate I had the same conundrum over what to do.
I was lucky in as much as a dealer local to me had a manual and 6 speed auto I could back to back compare.
Both have advantages and disadvantages but finally, and I stress this is in my opinion, the deal breaker for me was that the manual was just
not as easy to live with in slow moving traffic, it got a bit tedious as the clutch gets a bit heavy.
So I went auto.
Pick it up next Friday.

It would have to be manual for me.

On used cars, remember the older cars attract high VEL rates and later ones do if originally over £40k.
