My understanding is that the DH only comes with recaro's. Now, if Ford US enable you at some stage to actually spec a car for yourself rather than take what they ship over then it might be possible to spec one with the "normal" GT seats.

The thing is, they’d already accelerated the price of a Mustang.

When the S550 was launched, it was a few thousand more expensive than an RS Focus, then Ford pushed and pushed the price.

To change from my 2 year and Mach 1, I’d have needed to put anther £25 towards it.

Then add in that the S550 is more traditional ‘Mustang’ (in my eyes, anyway).

If you could easily afford one, and it was on your shopping list, then why not, but it’s not what I’d spend £70k on.

And, after all, the sales speak louder than anything I can say.

When I ordered my Mach 1, I was under the impression it was the last v8 manual model guess I should have waited for the Dark Horse.

That happens with Astons . Last V12 ever and then a year later another "special" V12 model is rolled out.

Dealer has emailed me to say my DH has finally been built.
All things being equal delivery maybe mid July.
Still gives Rachel time to negotiate lower import tariffs smile

That is good news, though you still have £5490 first year's road tax to pay. Not thought about buying one already registered with a few hundred miles on the clock? There do seem to be quite a lot around like that.

So, what colour have you gone for? Manual or auto?

I must say my son is very pleased with his and it does produce a wonderful deep down rumble even when driving slowly. It even rides really well over the pot holed roads of south Cambridgeshire.

Yes I mentioned the increased tax to the dealer as part of my what I am paying for it conversation !
Carbonized Grey / Manual / Recaros.
Glad your son is still pleased with his.

I think carbonised grey absolutely suits the car and even though it is not black it does make it look sinister and potent. With regard to the noise, I think it sounds better than my V10 R8. And nearly 2 months in, the Mustang has no creaks and groans, despite the bad roads.

Hopefully will stay like that! My 2017 Mustang hadn't developed any creaks groans or squeaks when I traded it in last year. Neither has the new one, but that's only 4 months!

Although the interior is not up to Audi, Porsche or Aston standard it is a nice place to be and the seats are very comfortable. Parking at a garden centre for Sunday lunch last weekend had a middle aged man driving a regular hatchback asking my son to blip the throttle a few times. He smiled and gave the thumbs up after my son duly obliged.

And using the screen it is easy to turn off the speed and lane assist warnings.
Top tip, you can disable both of these from the steering wheel using actual buttons, which is much easier and quickly becomes 'muscle memory'.

To do so, press and hold the speed limiter button for a couple of seconds (circled yellow, below), and double press the lane keep assist button (circled blue).

I always always do this before driving, and have never had a 'hand on wheel' warning, so maybe one of these also disables that? Worth a try.

Thanks for the info, which I will pass onto my son. The hands on wheel warning is a bit of a bugger so if it sorts that out too that will be excellent.

Thanks for posting this. I had worked out how to get rid of lane assist, otherwise known as'try to swerve you into an oncoming car for a laugh to see if you are alert'. But not the short cut to get rid of speed beeps. Really useful, as doing it through the menu is slow, and in my case often gets interrupted by the car syncing with the phone, putting me back to Home menu half way through.beer

Oh, and I have found the hand on wheel warning seems to be disappearing. Perhaps it has learned my driving style? No idea whethwr it is clever enough to do that!

Yes - few issues like getting Tracker installed and then with Detailers for a few days getting ceramic coated.
Will post a couple of pics.
Still getting to grips with certain things on the digital screens but so glad I waited for my spec as opposed to the spec Ford wanted to sell me.

Mmmm, looks nice in carbonised grey. Did you have to pay the full "extra" road tax or did you and the dealer come to an accommodation?

By the way, is the front bonet aligned or does it stick up slighty at one end(Or perhaps even both!). Apparently, this is a common occurrence and is easy to fix.My son's D.H. has that problem and is waiting for the isue to be rectified.

The dealer ended up contributing 40% of the additional tax which I thought was reasonable.
Front bonnet aligned - tbh panel fit throughout is pretty decent.
Paint quality generally better than I expected although one tiny ( and I mean tiny ) indent on the suage line which unless you know it was there you wouldn’t.
It was the detailer under his lights that mentioned it.
Dealer happy to pay for Excel Dents to remove but I’m probably just going to leave it.
Under the rear bumper ( the black plastic bit ) there is also a small gouge but not noticeable unless you are crouched down.
Dealer happy to order a new one but I’m slightly nervous of the removal and refitting process given how good the current fit is !
