Does that whole thing slide back as one unit? So when you're in top the stick is right at the back of the slot? Seems a bit odd. Still normal clutch control??

Think I'd rather have a regular 'box.

Nope. with a sequential box, you pull it back to change up (seems odd, but trust me), and then it springs back to the centre. Push forward to drop a gear, and it returns to the centre again.

You're confusing a sequential shifter with an auto one

Thats cool. I don't think "TVR Typhoon" would have sounded right

TVR Typhoid sounds better if you ask me. Brings you out in a cold sweat, and could possibly kill you

It even comes with a cup holder as well!

Not deep enough... more of a McFlurry holder...

Er, excuse me Gents, but I think PW had that designed so you can pop your false teeth somewhere to save them being shaken out.

Well I can't believe he would allow a cup holder in the design!

It's probably got a park and reverse position (like an auto box) and then the sequential shift when it's in the middle of that slot.

That's what I thought, but then what is that big slot behind it for?

Got this off the press release if anyone's interested...

There is also a new addition to the T400/T440R family. Already TVR's range-topper, a new supercharged version named the Typhon is to join the line-up. Propelled by a blown 500 bhp version of TVR's 4 litre Straight Six, the Typhon is the first TVR for twenty years to feature a supercharger. It has twin intercoolers and the centrifugal supercharger is driven by a belt off the crankshaft. It also benefits from sequential injection.

It features the same carbonfibre bodywork as the T400R and T440R and also benifits from TVRs own six speed sequential gearbox. Very small scale production of the T400R and T440R has already started and the Typhon will join them in the Spring. It is priced at £79,995.
