So was the speed 12 and that was never produced for the road despite numerous race versions and motor show cars.
It's already on the road!

That't 'just' a 440r (i.e not supercharged, despite the name of the thread).
I think he was implying that even the Tuscan R/T440R was just a publicity stunt because he can't expect the supercharged Typhon to have been delivered to any customers when it's only just been unveiled a couple of days ago.

Like many things TVR, the central console and shifter are probably works in progress - you know how quickly things change!
If it's ergonomically sound, though, the shifter makes a lot of sense - but I'm surprised paddle shifts are not being suggested...
Shifter certainly seemed ergonomically sound... well located, solid, tactile feel and a positive action.

As I understand it as of yesterday at MPH03, the Supercharged engine has been prepped and dyno'd etc and will be drpped into the first car this week for full testing.
Its an 18 month waiting list and they alrwady have about 15 orders. (I understand that they also took in excess of 15 orders for the Sagaris).
The Typhon did look fantastic and sitting in it it felt about as perfect as you can get!!

Anyone know what type / brand of supercharger TVR have decided to use?
Nice to see TVR following modern forced induction wisdom and bypassing the stagnant turbocharger field... as Gordon Murray has said, Turbos are dead... superchargers are the way to go (and I have been saying that for a decade!)

Problem with the photos of the T440/Typhon is that it has a myriad of lights above it.....spoils any piccys really.
Very true, made it look like a Christmas tree decoration
Anyway, for what its worth, the ones I took are here;

Mmmmmmmmmmmm....
Love the back end of the Typhon - very 'Jame Bond'. The exhaust system resembles an open hatch with bloody great rocket launchers sticking out. Fantastic! I need one just as much as I need that Omega Seamaster. Although I never have like those rear lights, much prefer the lights to be in a cluster myself. On the whole a much better back end than the Saggy Arse.
Tvr are amazing, how they come up with these different cars in such a short space of time never ceases to amaze me...... what do you reckon o-60 in a 550 brake car weighing just over a tonne will be..... I reckon 3.5 if the traction is good still not sure about the back, one bump and its goodnight arse!!
Found this on the web:
Typhon
by Ryan Tuccinardi
Typhon is the offspring of Gaia and Tartarus. His mate is Echidna and both were so fearful that when the gods saw them they changed into animals and fled in terror. Typhon's hundred, horrible heads touched the stars, venom dripped from his evil eyes, and lava and red-hot stones poured from his gaping mouths. Hissing like a hundred snakes and roaring like a hundred lions, he tore up whole mountains and threw them at the gods.
Zeus soon regained his courage and turned, and when the other gods saw him taking his stand, they came back to help him fight the monster. A terrible battle raged, and hardly a living creature was left on Earth. But Zeus was fated to win, and as Typhon tore up huge Mount Aetna to hurl at the gods, Zeus struck it with a hundred well-aimed thunderbolts and the mountain fell back, pinning Typhon underneath. There the monster lies to this very day, belching fire, lava and smoke through the top of the mountain.
Echidna, his hideous mate, escaped destruction. She cowered in a cave, protecting Typhon's offspring, and Zeus let them live as a challenge to future heroes. Echidna and Typhon's children are the Nemean Lion, Cerberus, Ladon, the Chimera, the Sphinx, and the Hydra.
