I just got finished playing this game on my Macbook and loved it!

Does anyone know of any similar games I can play on the Mac?
Original Bioshocks were better in my opinion. Not a bad price through mac app store. Deus EX, the new one. I hated that at first but gave it a second chance on the second run through and its not bad. Borderlands 1+2 are OK though I suspect they are marmite. And if you are into a bit of adventure stuff, Baldurs gate enhanced edition.

Usual caveat, check system requirements. I am playing these on an iMac.

Bought this in the Steam sale a few months ago, but just upgraded my PC so I can play it properly.

Seems ok so far. I've just got to the point where I've met Elizabeth and am now going after some guns for a gang.

For the Bioshock Infinite fan that doesn't quite have everything yet.

That made me look, turns out it's official merchandise. I thought it was a one-off fan made piece.

I like Retro Futurism/Steam Punk but if you bought one of those things, what exactly would you do with it ?

  1. Put it out on display at home (like I have with a Fallout4 Pip Boy)
  2. Use it at a Comic Con convention for Cosplay.
I can't think of much else.

Read the news on the first person to think high voltage lines were for something else?

New Bioshock game in development - https://www.gamespot.com/articles/new-bioshock-gam...

I wonder if they have made the decision after seeing the new Half-Life. Return to Rapture VR?

I might re install this and give it another go. Just got to the point where I'm fed up with fallout 4 and need something else to play in my spare time.

Hmmm. Not sure where they will go with this. I thought the ending in Infinite was fairly conclusive.

"There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city."

I don't see what they can bring to this that isn't now just a variation of this. But I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with as I have immense affection for this series.

Past games dealt with topics including human genetic modification, Ayn Rand's philosophy of individualism, racism and quantum physics, in sci-fi inspired alternative versions of history.
I must have missed all that as I was too busy run round shooting things.

Well, that's a shame because I always felt that the running around shooting things always got in the way of the great story and the interesting exploration of genetics, eugenics, racism, human genetic modification, parallel universe theory, and quantum physics. smile

Agreed. I could have watched it as a movie and been happy.

FWIW Bioshock remastered (all three games) is currently £12 on PSN.

Missed the bioshock series first time round. Played them all on remastered Ps4.

Bioshock one was excellent. Really enjoyed it including the combat.

Bioshock 2 initially wasn't for me then I managed to shift into the mindset of playing as the big daddy. Enjoyed it a lot.

Infinite: I've tried two goes at it and whilst the environments have been given much care and attention, I just can't find the desire to proceed. I just feel we get bogged down in too much tedious gunplay.

Repeating that part 1 is well worth the effort if not been played before.

I don't disagree. Infinite is possibly the strongest and most interesting story, spoiled by excessive gunplay. In my opinion.

I would suggest dropping the difficulty to easiest and continuing through just for the story. The ending is superb and left me reeling. The Burial at Sea DLCs are well worth it too, especially Part 2, as it ties Columbia to Rapture in an interesting way.

As an aside, I did just that for The Last of Us, as I do not own a Playstation. I watched a 4 hour video on YouTube which someone had made, which contained all the cut scenes and story elements, with minimal gameplay, and I felt like I had watched a superb movie.

Apologies for the thread resurrection, but this video is rather lovely.

It's about why there is a little boy dancing with a baguette held over his head in the Paris dream sequence of Burial at Sea, and it turns out to be expediency and a workaround.

Worth watching

Also, in other news, the PC version of Bioshock: Infinite has been recently getting loads of updates, and nobody knows why.

Given that Netflix are buying a Bioshock film, I'd guess it's to make sure the game looks completely up-to-date and is available on every platform ever when the interest and new audience arrives off the back of the film.
