Quick question regarding followers...
I've got the female tank that is Lydia following me round everywhere and doing a sterling job of whacking everyone in the face. Apart from her swearing to carry my burdens every 5 seconds, I'm very happy with her.
I'm also married to Camilla but I think the slapper is shagging a bloke called Faendal as I keep seeing him coming out of my house.
Anyway, I have a task to do (Boethiah) which involves making a sacrifice...
I'd like to basically tell Lydia to stay put and then tell Faendal to follow me then bump him off & then get Lydia back. Is this possible?

Faendal is long gone. The hussy then kept getting fresh with a lute player but he got wiped out by a bandit. No loss.
Anyway, I have a question regarding the PS3 version...
I've got the Special Remastered version on the PS4, however my PS3 version is just the very basic Skyrim. I've given my PS3 to my son & he's started playing it, however he'd like to build a house / visit Solstheim etc. I can download the DLC from the PlayStation Store, however it's ridiculously expensive (nearly £30) when you consider I can buy a copy of the "Legendary Edition" for about £10 which has all the DLC included. Question is, if I installed the Legendary Edition, will my sons existing save still work or will he have to start again?
Also, any idea to find out on the PS4 how many hours I have played on this game?

That's magic - cheers
I've got to say, I've been playing games for over 30 years, and this is quite simply one of the best games I've ever played. Absolutely loving it
Is there a limit to upgrading weapons? I've got my Bloodskal sword to "Legendary" (I think) but I don't seem to be able to get it any higher - I go to the grindstone and it says "you lack the required skill to upgrade this item" or words to that effect. My smithing is about level 78 (want to get to 80 so I can make Ebony) so pretty high. I actually hadn't realised you could upgrade weapons - I remember a chap in Whiterun getting me to make and refine a dagger a long time ago but I've been busy killing stuff since then

I think "flawless" is the cap, and then the trick is knowing how to get the best out of enchantments so you get an extra effect (or 2 ). I really like the Nightingale Blade that you get at a certain point.northwest monkey said:

If you haven't tried Witcher 3 then you should definitely get that. Contentious, but, even as a huge Skyrim fan, I reckon Witcher 3 has it beaten.I've got to say, I've been playing games for over 30 years, and this is quite simply one of the best games I've ever played. Absolutely loving it

Is it a similar sort of game?
Possible spoilers coming up, so if you've lived in a cave for several years and haven't played Skyrim then don't read any more.
I'm currently 83% of the way through the game. My general character level is about 46 - I'm the boss of the vampires, the thieves, the college, the dark brotherhood and the companions (although I think I need to turn back into a werewolf to do some more missions for these guys). My armor rating is over 1000 and I have the very rare "Davo's Hammer of Serious Ouch" which does about 230 damage. Got all the dragon priest masks & I own every property there is to own even though one seems to be glitched a bit...
I've got a few incomplete missions (collect crimson roots in Blackreach & some pages of a book in the place where Serana's mum lived spring to mind), more than a few glitched missions such as "visit the college" (I'm the Arch-Mage), "investigate the Boethiah cultist" (I'm wearing his armour) and "learn the power at Arcwind point" (done this but it thinks I haven't and now Arngeir won't talk to me).
Some of my skills are at maximum or very near (2 handed, heavy armour, sneak, smithing all over 90) and some are pretty crap (magic stuff).
Couple of questions though...
Where the hell is the missing 17% ?
How on earth do I get my level higher / why is my level relatively low & is there anything else "level dependent"? (e.g. I got the Boethiah mission once I hit level 30, level 20 for the Dawnstar mission). I've read that at level 80 a warrior turns up wanting a fight - that seems a long way to wait for some armour I don't need!
The only major thing I can think of that I haven't done is the Blades stuff (they still want someone bringing to them) as I quite like Paarthurnax so don't want to kill him.

Magic is best to do when you first start the game and levelling up is fast and easier I haven't done it for ages but with enough cash it's best to get yourself to Windhelm early on and get destruction magic training from the wizard in the Keep there, early on you can train 5 times in one level and it is enough to level you up and get another 5 and so on. If you have the cash through picking everything you find up and selling it as many times as you can. Although I find early level magic to be a little underpowered if you aren't playing on the easy level so you need to manage the difficulty or you will end up going back to sword combat.
On the PC to created new playthrough with a better starting position with magic that I could carry on and no rely on sword fighting I set the level diffculty up and gifted myself money (player.additem F xxxx) on the console and used it with the magic trainers to give myself a better level of early magic, not too much but enough to compete equally.
Also some good magic mods.

Similar worlds, in that they're sort of a middle-ages with magic, Lord of the Rings level of technology kind of place. The Witcher series places you as a character with a backstory, so you can't be quite as imaginative about who you are. It's still very high on my wishlist though.
The world in witcher 3 is much more developed, as is the story. Many of the missions are very memorable and there are some great characters.Gassing Station | Video Games | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
