Hi.

It is getting to that time of year again where the guys at Codemasters bring out another stunning game (based on F1 2011) and by looking at these two videos it seems as though they will succeed again.

It seems most things at this time are still in the development stage but looking at the video's it appears that you can set where you want the brake bias which is a great feature. It still has DRS & KERS which is a subject that has caused conflict and debate in the past but real Formula One cars have it so I think it should stay and it something else to play with. I wonder if it will be a closer race for the championship like this years.

The release date is September 21st 2012 so who will be buying it, bearing in mind a couple of games like Forza Horizon will be out around that time aswell.

I agree - online did become boring and I very rarely go online now for that very reason.

How do you adjust brake bias then? I have all aids off and hardest setting? Am I being stupid or is it hidden?!

Brake bias is a new feature in 2012

Let's hope it's not ruined by bugs like F1 2011...

That would be good. I think F1 2010 was the most glitchy though, and improved vastly with F1 2011.

I'm playing 2011;

In the car setup area you can select brake bias front/rear
(I generally play 48/52)
Ah I understand now. I will have a play later. In the video it appears you can adjust it on the move in 2012. smile

i'm still on 2010 but only halfway through the season, gave up due to bugs and glitches. couldn't be bothered with 2011 as heard it wasn't much better, just more up to date with the cars etc.

2012 might be worth getting hold of tho now they've had a chance to improve again. looking forward to the austin circuit too! smile

Looking forward to it. The developer forays look awesome especially as an improvement on my beloved PS3 graphic wise.

For now I'll leave with this image of bedlam on F1 2011 that happened right in front of me (who says the AI don't crash!). You can see my Force India neatly nipping up the inside.

Needless to say Petrov was found up a tree 3 miles from the track. See'ya!!!!!!

Lol.

I'm no Cock-a-Naldo! Petrov lost it across the gravel came back onto the track where Kobayashi collected him at full pace and launched him into the Monza sky.

Very very funny incident as it appeared that Kobayashi just carried on after it.

This incident brings me onto my biggest gripe with this F1 series. Lack of replays and more importantly lack of replay from the other cars. I would have loved to have seen the view from Petrov's car. The other benefit this could bring is being able to ride on board with Vettel or Alonso who is actually nailing a lap and seeing where they are making their time up. What gear they are in, speed into corner etc.

Sadly because of the way the game is made I doubt this will ever happen but alas I'm still looking forward to it.

Racing online the other night Some bellend passed me by completely straight lining Della Roggia, tried cutting Ascari too but totally lost it and flew into the barriers, loved it!

It doesnt seem like a whole lot has changed for '12. I wont be buying until I've read others impressions of it.

I had a quick play earlier before I popped out. I like the graphics, small details that they put into certain off track parts. I also like some new additions.

I dislike the size of the rear wing while looking back (McLaren) and in the short amount of time I had it took an age to get the wheel-spin without any aids on - that may change with time though.

Just had a go on the demo and first thought was here we go again... Not that it's bad, it just isn't that much different from the last one, which wasn't much different to the one before that. It's. Obviously unfair to jump to conclusions based on a demo as the game itself might be great but there's nothing that I've seen that makes me feel excited enough to buy it. My interest in last years game lasted a couple of weeks max then went altogether and I havent played it in months.

Maybe it's just me getting curmudgeonly in my old age but Its left me a bit cold...

I've played it now, feel the same as you to be honest. It's good as always, but not massively different so far as I can tell... pretty graphics on the 360 though. I'll wait till it's a few quid.

It's funny because when I was a kid I was always so excited by the next f1 game. The first one on the playstation and f1 97 are still my favourite f1 games for sheer enjoyment but I always dreamed of photo realistic graphics and better sounds etc.. Now we have those, something seems to be missing. Maybe it's the novelty factor and Im so used to racing f1 cars around the same tracks, who knows. Anyway enough wistful wittering from me, I'm off to dust of the psone and put in some laps around Aida in my Simtek Ford!

Had a play last night, no wheel here - just with the 360 pad. Handling seems sharper and less wallowy than 2011 ie the cars can handle rapid changes of direction (like turns 11/12/13) without spinning. Cockpit view is improved and far better visibility than before, graphics seem a little smoother than before - graphically a stunning game but the jaggies (no AA) kind of spoil this on my 1080p lg tv.

Are there any raised kerbs at Yas Marina ? Didn't feel like it..

I like it, but I'm going to hold off buying it until we see how the AI behave in races.
