I have it, and I dislike it at the moment.

It handling takes a hell of a lot of understanding and I am in the Torro Rosso and my, oh my, is it slow and the sound is quite poor IMO. It may not be slow, but feels it. I have it on the hardest setting with no aids but I cannot put a decent lap together as it understeers like a FWD. I tried tweaking the settings but with minimal gains. I find I am having to put two wheels on the grass to get a decent speed but even then you are trying to guess how it will handle once back on track. Then, I think the worst sin of all - the auto slow-down off track is doing my head in. It really annoyed me when I (and lets face it, we all make mistakes) get sideways behind another car and to prevent an accident I correct it but off track. I then have the computer controlling the throttle inputs for me while trying to save it. Grr! I hope some of the above will fade with time but I am not liking this at all at the moment. irked

I will report back when some time has gone into the game.

Try this set up. I use it as a baseline and vary it for individual tracks a bit:

Aero F:7 R:5, Brake pressure: high, Front Anti roll: 7 Rear anti roll:6, Front and Rear ride height: 4, front suspension:4 Rear suspension:6, front and rear toe: 2 units to the left (can't remember exact numers)

Makes it a bit more pointy for me anyway.

Much improved over 2011 in every single way IMO.

I have really got into this game now. Handling seems much improved once you get used to it - and the auto-slow off track is not as intrusive as you first think. I still wish it wasn't there, but it is no longer a problem. smile

8.5/10.

I have a speed wheel which is a great compromise (over having a propper wheel with pedals). Most of the time if I just want a quick fix of f1 or forza I reach for the speed wheel, it is great!

I got an as new condition MS force feedback wheel in box with instructions and all for £50 from my local game exchange place. It is great, but obviously a faf to setup and store.
Got a speed wheel last night. It's going to take some practice smile

I have moments where I'm really accurate, then moments where I'm all over the place. I suppose F1 2012 is a challenge with one of these wheels.

I may need to look at increasing the dead zone? I find that sometimes I think the wheel is straight, but it's on a slight angle. This may help with the manic KERS and DRS moments too (where I seem to throw the car off the road).

The cronic FWD under-steer was killing this game for me, in fact it killed it, but then i went onto official forum and found a wheel set up thread and looked at 3 for the MS xbox wheel and since then, its perfect!
The under-steer when you use a wheel is a fault with default wheel settings. Once you tweak them its the game it should be, like 2011 but even better..

As a guide my 'linarity' setting is 40%......that seems to be a big factor....

Any ideas about a good setup for a speed wheel?

Thanks. smile

I am enjoying it. I played a fair bit tonight and I am on Champions Mode and even if it is a tad easy (even on Hard) I like the idea behind it and trying to replicate a great race ending.

I still try and floor it exiting some corners and then see cars behind, normally slowing and swerving. hehegetmecoat

Question for you on something that annoyed me in the last couple of games.

When in career mode do the drivers move around or if I move to Ferrari does Massa just disappear from the game until I move again?

Ruins the realism for me if it's still there.

You'll replace the second driver at a team. They won't appear in the championship from that point forward.

yeah it would be nice if the game updated itself when there were driver changes etc.

Has f1 2012 improved the replay system at all? Can you now see incidents longer than 5 seconds and from different cars?

Do the AI have failures, crashes, retirements? And if someone retires do you actually get told or do you have to look at the race director screen like 2011?

The AI have had a few crashes in my experience especially on the first corner.
