I just got this for the Xbox. I've not played the original and bought this on the strength of the reviews and the fact that it looks quite addictive... let's see!
See you next month then .Also - how long would it take to complete if you looted every single cabinet/bin?!

I've played for an hour or two now and am really enjoying it. I'm used to the Diablo style of loot, but I'm still baffled as to what guns to pick up, which to leave etc. You can carry 12, but I'm forever forgetting which ones are good, which to put in my two slots etc. At the moment I'm just picking everything up. I've not really decided whether to use pistols, rifles, shotguns etc... I presume you don't specialise in one sort or another?

It's hard to say what gun is best, since you'll no doubt be using all variants through the game, but really what ever works best for you. Also - how long would it take to complete if you looted every single cabinet/bin?!
Just make sure you have a gun for each (Normal, Fire, Shock, Explosive, Corrosive) and just pick up the one's with the better overall comparable stats to your current selection - All will be explained later in the game.
Also, always look out for guns that may have lower damage digits than your current but will sometimes be (As an example) Damage: 21 x 3. Bonus damage is sometimes placed on guns with scopes, like the (Fire) SMG I'm using, on 3 Burst with large Critical hit damage.
My selection is...
(Fire) SMG with Scope.
(Corrosive) Sniper.
(Shock) Pistol.
(Explosive) Rocket Launcher.
Oh and if you find any Guns that say "Atlas", they're a rubbish... But don't throw it away, just friend me and I'll invite you to my game and I'll trade you one Elemental stone for it! - Can't be a fairer deal than that

Only managed a couple of hours on it last night, didn't play the first game for some reason, but love this so far. For me it has all the good from Diablo, but none of the bad, as in I'm actually having to use some skill to take down the enemies, as opposed to just clicking non-stop.
Will you be my co-op buddy at some point? TimmyWimmyWoo said:

Will you be my co-op buddy at some point? Working from home.. must resist game. If I can make it to lunchtime without giving in then I might spend an hour (or three) on it this afternoon.
Black Mesa isn't going to get a look in..
Played a bit of co-op with OssAndy last night.. Enemy's seemed a bit harder (Frosthawk cave @ level 11) but got a sweet sniper rifle with +180% to critical = 721 headshot damage. Lovely.

The humour and the cartoon style is a refreshing change from playing with grown men who moan about bullet ballistics in a game and probably dress up in army stuff when they log on to bf3 or cod.
Only played a couple of hours, but the go kill a pyschotic creature riding dwarf had me amused.

Yep, I like the fact that it absolutely does not take itself remotely seriously.Only played a couple of hours, but the go kill a pyschotic creature riding dwarf had me amused.
That, and the fact that Tediore guns turn into grenades when you reload them.

When I joined you, I was just in a random town, I'm guessing at that point I'd have to try and make my way to where you were? I jumped out after a couple of minutes because it was affected just as badly as my online BF3 games are at the moment by a bad internet connection - run 1 step forwards and it sends you 3 steps sideways and 2 steps backwards. Infuriating!Black Mesa isn't going to get a look in..

I haven't found any corrosive ones yet? I played co op today with some strangers, was really good fun taking out waves of baddies and the exp points seem to rack up as quickly as ammunition disappears! The game also seems fairly hard against some of the bigger bosses which is a welcome change from swanning through a game even on a higher difficulty setting. If anyone on ps3 wants to team up you can add me:
