I've come back to this after a long absence, used the second account I got free on epic to make a space lady, and by running the second account in the background I can use multi crew to have said space lady in my co pilot seat, doesn't seem to affect performance despite having the game running twice... Advantage for main character is just an extra pip on weapons on the power distributor, but the new character already has millions in the bank from it and hasn't taken off fron the start station yet.

To be honest it's just nice to finally have someone sat in that forlorn looking co pilot seat.
I've never had NPC crew but I believe they don't sit there?

No they hide in the heads as far as I can tell, major missed opportunity by FDev. They're renowned for those mind.

I have always wanted characters filling the empty seats or at least an option in settings to turn them on or off.

Extra crew on the bridge would be fantastic. Although the staff caroming around when you're suddenly interdicted might be a bit too far.

I spent about four or five hours editing this fun bit of footage. If I was more efficient in Resolve I'd be able to afford a fleet carrier by now.

I just recently worked unlocked the pre engineered FSD which was very useful and was wondering what the best jump ranges you can get.
I was up to about 73LY on an experimental DBX but hadn't fitted a shield generator at that point.

Looks pretty cool, sad about the fade to black but walking around your ship in the hanger should be amazing, judging by how much fun driving around it in the SRV can be.

Here's another tidbit about buying an Apex transport ticket with you approaching a Hauler at the end.

Yeah I was really hoping it would make it all the way to the finish line, and they'd stroll up the ladder into the ship's interior and then make their way to the cockpit. Still, it's a fantastic update. It does look lovely. It looks like it will probably make gameplay slower if you decide to do station business this way (I expect you'll still be able to do it from the ship's interface if you want) but it really will add to the atmosphere of the game. I can't wait!

So you're doing a planetary mission. You've alerted patrols and you get back to your ship and want to take off fast. Running up ladders, along decks, up more stairs.......oh no you've been blown up. Fast teleport to cockpit is a hell of a lot better. So I'm glad we don't have ship interiors for that reason. We might get them later that will be a novelty for a few minutes but teleport to cockpit must stay.

I think Frontier did the mental maths on how quickly peopel would demand the choice between teleporting and walking through the ship and concluded it would be a poor investment. Not that I don't want ship interiors to play in (briefly)

Hopefully exploring on foot is fun and not a grindfest of synthesising more oxygen for when you want to take a stroll or watch the suns's's's set.

I'm sure spec ops forces IRL would agree. 'Course they just have to time their extraction rather better allowing for how long it takes. Would ADD gameplay for me.

Watching a couple of the Odyssey livestreams today. It looks kinda cool. Glad I'm not in the Alpha/Beta/whatever though as looks like there's lots of bugs left to squish.
Yamiks' game crashed twich in a row from shooting red barrels, and both he and DTEA had very long menu load times.

Cracking pics! thumbup

Was streaming DTEA playing Odyssey whilst I waited on an oil change, does look pretty cool - but I'll wait until it's a little more ironed out, and the new "bubble" expands before I jump on the train I think. Definitely looks promising though.

Same for me. If I've got my timing wrong, I don't want a shortcut to bail me out.
