Just a little bit of fun, but if you make your way to the mountain roughly in the middle of the Northern Island (roughly around X:659, Y:675) and take the hang glider due South, you can glide all the way to the South island. Longest glide I've managed so far.

Makes me wonder if I should revisit FC2 again after this. Did I just misunderstand it or was it lacking?
I've been pondering this, and whilst I was one of the few that really liked FC2, I think there are dozens of subtle improvements on FC3 that you would only notice if you replayed #2 (i.e. customizable weapons, the respawning issue etc) and sully any previous experience of the game. The graphics are totally different as well; I liked the way FC2's dusty/sandbox graphics were suited to the hot, tinderbox, oppressive Africa setting but compared to the lushness of FC3 I think I'd find them a bit lacking. I'll probably replay #2 at some point, but not right after playing #3.

Okay, maybe I do like this game. I stopped doing missions and started getting material for crafting. Not sure how I'm going to get shark skin though scratchchin

I'm loving this game despite only having it for a few days. The depth of the island is amazing with the mountains and caves etc. it's always fun to explore and mess around without even doing the main story (which I'm finding excellent too but am only a little way into it). I think I'm going to try and hunt down all the radio towers now to give me an idea of how far everything is.

Can't anyone tell me, can you get to the second island from the get go or does it get 'unlocked' in the story mode?

Ah, thanks for the help hehe

I meant aren't they deep in the water so I can't use my trusty hatchback or guns?

thumbup If you scoot around in a gun boat you'll soon find them. Then just hop onto the mounted gun and BLAMMO!

They sink though, so either get the breath-holding skill unlocked or craft a deep dive potion before attempting it - and watch out for other sharks!! Alternatively scout a shallow area close to shore, wait for them to show up and take 'em out with a sniper rifle.

Okay, cheers!

On a side note, did anyone choose to save friends on the last mission? If so, what happened to them, or did I miss something?

Youtube has both options. No real difference.

The Friends get out of there on the boat. There is a difference, if you chose to stay with Citra she fks you and then kills you.

I really wanted to enjoy this game. Yet whenever I play it I'm bored after about a half an hour. Perhaps if I perceiver it will grow on me.

I'm playing Dishonored at the moment, and one thing it is bringing home hard is how lacking in 'flavour' Far Cry 3 is. You walk into a room and there are tables, chairs, sideboards, pictures, fruit, bottles, plates, books that you can read, doors you can open and close... you know, stuff that makes it look interesting and makes it look like it's been lived in. Dishonoured isn't alone, of course, because Skyrim, Fallout 3 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution are all similar. Far Cry 3.... pretty much nothing. And what 'flavour' it does have is bloody stupid; like bin bags and bottles next to a fallen Japanese soldier who is meant to have lain undisturbed for 60 years.

May lack a little flavour but has everything and I mean everything else covered.

Okay, there's one thing in this game that is complete bullst and is pissing me off.

I'm trying to take all of the outposts and I'm now on the smaller island. I'm attacking an outpost with a silenced sniper from about 400 metres away but somehow, one of the soldiers keeps managing to fire his RPG so that it hits me directly. I'm no expert but I know that that's not possible. Five times he's shot an RPG and directly hit me from hundreds of metres away. Bullst.

I find that hilarious.
