Middle of Germany is your best bet.
+1 for your 1st base.

I went:
1. Brussels
2. Calais
3. Leipzig
4. London
5. Bern

Agreed, I went for Dortmund over Dusseldorf and the others simply because an old friend used to play football professionally and made his debut against Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. Useless factoid.

OK having played a bit now I thought I would turn up the setting to full realism....how disappointing.

Having driven all over the UK I haven't come a cross a single car load of doggers in a lay by.

Quite enjoying this.

After 2 jobs, I brought my own truck with a loan, then the bank said they would loan more money, so I extended the depot, and brought 2 trucks, and hired two drivers.

No have got those training up, one on Long distance, the other Just-in-time, and I'm picking up jobs normally from the store yard I have just delivered to.

I'm only making a small amount of money, but the loan is being paid and my drivers are getting training/experience. So gradually the income rate is increasing.

Hopefully will be able to get a new base and more trucks again soon.

Strangely addictive.

Well, I know we complain about the realism and the mapping but I reckon they've got Edinburgh reasonably well.

The dump across from Holyrood Palace.
The flaming traffic, suicidal drivers.
The pissy road network.
The flaming lousy weather and
that bloody speed camera 100yds inside the start of a 30.

It is a lot better! smile

Camera 'works' better, as you look left, the camera postion 'leans' forward, when you look right, far enough, you stick your head out the window! smile (in cabin view)

you dont have to get the trailer in the slot when you unload, you can skip this (you dont get as much XP) there are a lot more jobs available from each location, garage manager works better. you dont have to drive to the truck dealer etc to buy a truck, theres no 3 jobs to hire a driver rule. and the XP system is good, makes you want to do more and more! upgrade and get it!

Thanks. Shall look into it. First port of call is a control pad as using ETS1 on keyboard is shockingly awkward.

May purchase ETS2 and see how bad it runs on my laptop (3year old HP effort) and then assess what I need to do, as IIRC our lass is getting 1x new MACBOOK PRO from work soon scratchchin

a USA mod would be brilliant though. though it would have to mean restarting the game rather than a continuation of the current map.

or expand into the middle east. complete with IeD's.

I dont see why USA mod would mean restart of the game? you could just 'switch' stateside and your garages continue to run on the continent while your in the states, imagine a haul coast to coast or Canada down to 'Meh'ico'

Or even deliver multiple truck loads to a port and then take it up the river.

Anyone tried to make there own skins yet?? The graphics side of it seems relatively easy, the buggering about with programmes and saves etc sounds a bloody nightmare!
