I have been following this premium tank / SirFoch debacle with interest, WG have absolutely no idea how to handle PR.

Could just be me, but as with the Pz1c in the lower tiers, the combination of ludicrous speeds and high firepower made them overly dominant, at least in the early stages of a game.

Medium recce should be about seeing without being seen, not charging about the place with complete impunity.

I also get annoyed when Chaffees and ELCs bounce hits from my Cromwell!
The Pz1c is my current favourite tank after the ELC nerf. The Pz1c used to be more powerful than it is now, with a higher powered engine and a ~5 second reload which is now ~7.5. It is still very powerful, but the lack of pen on standard ammo can be an issue. Dab the 2 key, spend 10k credits destroy the slightly more armoured tier 3 and then switch back to standard ready for the next.
Have they nerfed the camo rating on the ELC? Because that's it's most valuable attribute.
edited my earlier comment as i referenced the wrong tank.

The ELC camo has not been nerfed, but for me that wasn't the strongest point, it was the maneuverability and being able to run at an enemy, unleash the 90mm into the side of the enemy at point blank and run away!

It's almost as if they have invented Anti-PR.

Just downloaded this today after a recommendation from friends and having a quick shot on share play (which I didn't know could be done on ps4!).

What are the first couple of critical decisions to be made after getting out of training? Any top tips?

Choosing to either stop playing now, or accept it's going to be a massive time sink....

Level up as quickly as possible to tier 4 then hang round there for a while - the low tiers are full of experienced players picking on players just starting out.

Because at tier 4 you'll meet seal clubbers in t67s. ..

When I say meet, you won't see them..

Anyone struggling like mad with their light tanks recently?

I decided to start the chinese light tank line a couple weeks ago and got up to the 59-16 with the intention to stay there for a while and have some fun.

But i just cant get any acceptable spotting damage.
Most ive had is 2000 dmg, usually its more like 500.

I use similar play style as i do in my cromwell, in which i average 1000 spotting dmg without really trying.

Also, i seem to be the focus of every artillery on the enemy team, even when im buzzing around at 60kph

Mostly only playing my tier 9 lights.

I wouldnt rely on spotting for lt esp at lower tiers, teams dont understand vision and maps arnt built for it, just play it as an opportunist.

So this weekend I picked up a VK100.01P and a Type 4 heavy.

T4H I managed to unlock the tracks and the 2nd gun, 1st is abysmal cant pen a thing. 2nd is ok. Armour though is unreliable, its really slow, and everyone loads gold. I've had a couple of good games but mostly in tier 10 games and either get spotted out of position because of its speed and nailed or when in position picked apart by grille 15's and t30's etc After the previous heavy I thought it would be good, missing the 15cm :/

Win rate about 30% :O

The VK100.001p. wow. Mostly still stock , I've upgraded the tracks, engine is 28k I'm half way. Top gun is 55k xp
But the starter gun is pretty sweet. lacking a little pen so you need gold for hard targets, its nice aiming accurate and decent rate of fire. Only downside is its 90mm so the tier 9+ Swedish td's are a pain.

But it brawls like a boss and sidescrapes crazy.

One game I brawled an m103, another vk100.001p and a hwk 12 and came out on top. Another (tier 10 game) 3 IS3's an st-i etc, IS3's 122mm at medium distance cant hit the cupola biggrin

Win rate about 75% :O considering its mostly bottom tier (cant remember a tier 6-8 game in it)..

I'm going to disappoint you by saying that I think the stock gun may be better. It certainly is for dpm, which is important here. Primarily because the tank itself, much as I like it, is very limited. It's excruciatingly slow and unwieldy - Maus and E100 are MUCH more maneuverable, which is saying something - and because of this, it's tactically very inflexible. Pick a path and stick to it - you can soak up damage and deal it too, while bouncing a lot of shots and angling....but....if you get flanked, that's it, you can't turn fast enough to respond before you die. That's where the higher dpm of the stock gun matters - try to get the flanker before they get past.
As you can imagine, once you've chosen your path, you're pretty much committed. Like the matilda, it's quite possible to set a course for the enemy and do nothing as the rest of your team rolls them up before you get close.

Yep looking at it and the info the stock gun has a lot going for it so it makes the grind up easier at least.

It lacks pen but gold is ok, has plenty of ammo, and decent aim time/accuracy so you can pick your shots.

As for manoeuvrability etc It seems to be a bit poorer than my kv4 but has fewer weak points armour wise.

far far better than the type 4 heavy

I swapped the tier 6 gun on my 59-16 for the tier 5 one. which is worse is almost every way except dispersion, and now im kicking ass (compared to before)
Its also got a higher velecity which makes a huge difference when auto aiming and firing at range.

ETA, ive just picked up a mastery star in it smile

FINALLY got the HT15 mission (8k damage dealt, received or bounced) for the T28 HTC in it. Well, I'd got the mission done without commendation a few days earlier, then another 5 times in a row without commendation yesterday, including bouncing 9600 damage in one game, but spacker teams meant loss after loss, so quite relieved it's done. Just the TD15 to do.

TD15 I found was ok ISU-152 boom boom boom... biggrin

For t-55 I am on
MT-15 (shouldnt be too hard)
SP.? stun things for cancer..
HT-? kill 4 things/3 different things shouldnt be hard but keep missing out on one or the other..
TD-? do 4 times my hp - bought a hellcat plus have tier 6 sweedish td, scorp g and isu-152.

Spent yesterday nuking things to death with the TD's and either team failed hard or won too fast to pick up the needed damage, almost got it a few times :/

I'm stuck on HT12 - how can I influence enemy players shooting at me and aiming badly? Stupid challenge - pure luck. And MT15 - most games don't even have 2k of TDs and if they do, it's a Jpz100E or similar.

HT12 - Bounce 3x your HP? Choose something with a lot of armour. 110 or 100.01P are ideal. Alternately, something lower tiered like the T14 as there's less HP needed.

I don't have either of those though. Biggest Heavy I have is a T10
