The weapons are mostly pants, it's 1916! That's part of the fun. As above, there aren't really any super-duper weapons which give you a massive advantage, you can unlock a decent spread of things very quickly, and all the better for it. For example, my fave medic weapon is the Rigotti trench which is one of the first things you unlock, I'm now level 90-something. And I'm quite fond of the bog-standard lewis gun for support.So far I've noticed no squad play, no one spots and I'm pretty sure I've pant weapons.
The hellreigel is perhaps the exception.
I like the new maps, lots of cover, narrow sections that create points of conflict, large flag areas, mixed terrain and actual new looking scenery rather than a copy / paste from older maps. Obviously there is some reuse but the maps feel new rather than just a rehash.
The one by the coast is a dream for pilots at the moment as nobody seems interested in the AA guns and everyone is gathering around the flag in big huddles ready to catch bombs
The only downside is that 50% of the players are level 120 (probably higher now) so it's a bit of a bloodbath.

Wasnt a fan of the new maps on Monday as like with every update, it seems to take 24 hours for the hit detection to sort itself out for me but liking them now. Not sure what theyve done to the Perino MG but its a beast now and on Itchy Bum f

new medic gun, didnt like it at first but fk me is it OP. The fedrov before it can out snipe a sniper and im finding it more accurate at distance on full auto than single shot - probably as the rounds rise up so get the hits that way.
New support MG is a beast as well

Not got premium so haven’t played any new maps... but I did come across a happy moment today...
Realised I didn’t have aim assist on and probably haven’t for a very long time when I went to turn it off earlier... and found it already off... means my KD isn’t taking as much of a hit as I thought!
