I've completed it.

It's more of an interactive movie than a game. I enjoyed the sheer beauty of it, but there isn't that much to do, really.

Seems like I'm in the minority of not being particularly impressed.

Jump, jump, jump..........jump, then jump again.

As previously mentioned, doesn't help that the shooting mechanics aren't very sharp.

Chapter 9, and struggling to play for more than 20 minutes at a time.
Have you not played an Uncharted game before?

Jumping is its middle name biggrin

I played 3, which I really liked and don't remember being bored at all by it.

pre ordered this from tesco in december 2015 for 49.00 but with my club boost i got it for £21. come launch day got £7 back as it was reduced. so got it for £14

brilliant game, but do i think its better than 2 or even 3. im very hard pushed to say so. it looked bloody amazing though. some of the scenery is epic.

finished it last night and found it a bit too much now. dont think another is needed

Small thing that annoys me, is how some of the climbing is scripted.

What I mean is, although you have some freedom with which path you take to get somewhere, there are times when Nathan refuses to do something simple. Like you'll be standing below a ledge a couple of feet higher that you, and pressing the jump button results in a half-arsed barely lift off the ground.

Whereas when you're hanging off a rock face by one hand, you can muster the strength to launch vertically several feet, or jump across a gap probably 15-foot wide with little to no run up.

It's a little too forced in that respect - like the game is saying 'this IS the way you go, so we will make it so', 'this is NOT the way you go, so we'll stop you doing so', feels a bit like the game is holding your hand.

But overall that's a minor criticism, it's a very good game, hope to have it finished by the end of the week.

It's not really a game though is it? These have always felt like one long QTE/cutscene to me. Polished and pretty but no actual gameplay.

Interesting article here: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-05-11-comba...

I have just finished it this evening. I actually liked the ending.

For anyone interested I would consider myself "very good" at the game and completed it in 14 hours and 1 minute, including a bit of exploration (I was hardly on a treasure hunt though).

It's a good game, worth the purchase.

Similar to the other Uncharted games - But obviously with some improved visuals, the driving was quite fun and the stealth aspects better. I liked the story as well, the little bits where you back in Nate's past with his Brother I found particularly interesting.

Although I will admit there is one particular section of the game, on the stormy island - and I thought the rain effects combined with the lightning and overall lighting of the scene was pretty awful.

I like the characters and the story and the protagonist.
I've played every Uncharted game and more often than not I was able to correctly guess "this ledge is going to break here" or "this thing will happen here..." - But this is more to do with my familiarity to the series.
I can't really remember much of the story of the last 3 games so I would buy the Collectors Edition just for some replayability.

But the above nature of the story and gameplay mechanics doesn't necessarily make it boring as a game to play. And after all, unless we are playing FPS shooters online or MMO RPGs like Skyrim or Fallout, or other free-roam type games such as Dying Light, or GTA V, what other game is not scripted/funneled, in the same way that the campaign modes in COD, BF, or other games are.

It's similar to how the Tomb Raider games have been and how they always will be!?
I'm not sure what people expected the game to be, it's certainly not a free roam type game and I don't see how it could be adapted to be one - it is what it is.

Worth a play through in my book.

Although now my life is empty as I need a new story-based game to play. :-(

Just reached chapter 10, this game is utterly brilliant so far. Shame it'll be the last in the series, with Drake anyway.

Personally i'd be very surprised if it came out as early as that. My guess would be that its going to be spring next year. i would be even more surprised if it made a noticeable difference to this game.
Not trying to convince you into buying one now by the way wink
All the indicators are that it will come out around the same time as PSVR (so Sept/Oct) and frankly, now that the news has leaked it pays Sony to release it sooner rather than later.

As for improvements, clock speed on CPU is up 25%, memory speed is up a similar amount and the GPU has twice the number of compute units (36 vs 18) as well as about a 15% clock speed increase so I'd say that enhancements to existing games in the form of solid 60fps framerates and like should be extremely possible. It depends on whether or not the publishers bother to patch the older titles to take advantage but on the big name titles I'd say they will.

Definitely this is what will get me to take the PS4 plunge.

Give the two new Tomb Raiders a go. Very similar and very good!

Well, I've finished it now and aside from the very pretty visuals I'm not convinced it's the best of the four to be honest. I know there has always been jumping, climbing, etc but this one turns that up to an 11 - it got very tedious on more than one occasion, something I never recall feeling in the previous outings

The pace of play also ground to a crawl in some chapters and left me thinking, can this section just end please?

Uncharted has never been about the gunplay, but each encounter felt false and a little contrived - I've never been a stealth player of anything and this is the first Uncharted game where that was deemed the default approach aside for one or two ambush encounters

The story is good and the way it makes you feel like you are in an interactive movie is second to none (felt a bit like playing "The Goonies" at times)

Took me about 18 hrs to finish on moderate and I'm glad I've played it, but I think I need something like Doom next!
