Same here - my boys can't even trade with each other. They were pretty annoyed when they found out. F@cking Niantic with dumbass implementation. My 6 year old has been pestering me about this for a few weeks and i finally installed it on sunday.
he's hammered through 80 pokeballs so i need to get more from stops. I get this much.
what else should i be doing? a short walk into town and back has 4-5 stops and a gym ( whatever that does). I walk / run /cycle a bit so hatching eggs is covered but we dont seem to have many balls.
any tips / tricks advice?

I cycle round the village (about 15 pokestops) steadily to not trigger the driving warning, and spin the stops as I go. A couple of laps usually tops me up nicely. I get some when I walk the dog too.he's hammered through 80 pokeballs so i need to get more from stops. I get this much.

I’m playing as Beanicat 1501 6646 1944. Have already added some of you. I’m currently on holiday in Asturias, Spain and collecting / sending as many gifts as I can find in rural Spain! Feel free to add me.

Try and get some Pokemon in gyms, even for a short while, and get some coins to spend on a bag upgrade so that if you do go to big city, tourist spot etc. where there are loads of stops you can fill up.
Try to visit at least one Pokestop every day. The first one you visit each day gives bonus items, and each day up to 7 gives incrementally greater rewards. You still get them even if it will overfill your bag. Similarly, trap at least one Pokemon (for points) and do a Field Research task - they can give handy rewards and completing 7 gives you a pop at a boss Pokemon. The latter doesn't have to be done every day.
