In other news, the CP boost for Best Buddy is apparently equivalent to one level. So it will take my T-Tar up to level 41.

Which seems like a lot of work for not a lot of reward.

Yes! Even worse, the app thinks my phone supports AR+ (which it doesn't), so if I say "yes", the app just crashes to a black screen (common problem, or so it seems when you search Reddit).

I'm not sure why I do keep playing to be honest, its a bit of a pointless addiction

It’s definitely a bug in the current release, quite a few problems in our group.

I have just once after lots of trying. The reward is no way aligned with the effort it takes though, so I shan’t be doing it again (I think it’s a monthly thing now if you want to keep doing it).

Yeah you pretty much need optimal counters (which will vary depending on what 3 pokemons he's sending out) or you'll get wasted. The end reward will most likely disappoint but you do get a lot of stardust along the way. Each decoy you beat gives 500 dust and another addition to the badge.

In other news, the first ever safari zone is coming to the UK, 17-19th April in Liverpool. Never been there before so might as well check it out (it is ticketed though).

i beat giovanni first time, after struggling with the other leaders

you have to stay near the stop you found him, keep trying different pokes, then dropping out and restarting before they get knocked out completely unless you've got tons of revives

you really want a very good Machamp or two

I think Giovanni has been weakened slightly for January, as I had no chance in Dec, and managed it a week ago. 2x level 40 Machamps and a Level 37 Swampert did it for me. Be sure to switch Pokemon a couple of times too, as it pauses Giovanni for a couple of seconds, so you can get a few hits in.

I thought the rewards of 2 x each of the TMs was worth it.

Decent group of us are coming down from Scotland, going to be there for the Saturday. They are getting some flak at the moment regarding the price being advertised as £18, and then when actually released it was £18 + vat + b/f.

Yeah I did notice that... came to almost double the headline figure (£35) when you add the city explorer pass as well! Breach of advertising standard surely.

Would seem so, in the UK VAT needs to be included in an advertised price, being a US based company I'd think they have missed it but they will need to do something about it, a lot of people currently reporting them for it.
