Possibly an element of the KBM brigade leaving for pastures new but mainly the fact that BF1 is very COD like in its shooting mechanics.

I'm gonna give this a proper go later. Did all the story mode and my first online game was a capture the flag type thing. Not really my thing, prefer deathmatches. Had one game and was crap at it and turned it off hehe

I'm hoping the team deathmatches are a bit like old school COD.

I'd almost forgotten about Judge and his ability to lock on to me at will, track me down anywhere on a map and continually slaughter me.

I was furiously going for the "order of fortitude" medal so was glued to stationary weapons trying to get 10 kills in a round and every time I got close he did his thing smile

Most enjoyable games.
Sorry, I was trying to switch teams, honest!
It added to the challenge and I laughed each time you murdered me, especially when I came looking for you in a tank only to discover you'd put mines on the road so I died instantly laugh

I eventually found an AA gun at the far end of a map that was away from the main action but in a good place to take out planes and the occasional wandering infantry. The medals system really doesn't suit my sporadic playing patterns though, a shame as I'm a hoarder of such things. Maybe BF4 will get "completed" one day?

I think I'm ready for some new maps now.

FFS I had to scroll 6 pages to find this (behind sexbox and PC BF1 fan-boy pages) just came here to say that despite my best efforts I now really like BF1. Shooting lemmings in the face then t-bagging him twice within 30 seconds helped a lot. Judge, lets get the old squad and matches going again. It's time

Agree, shame there isn’t more activity on here and the game itself.

I’m afraid I just don’t see matches ever working for us again. I always saw us as enthusiastic amateurs with a few very good players meaning we got whipped badly against proper opposition but could turnover badly organised teams. We could always get 12 players so BF3 was perfect, we can’t get many more, and neither can most others so there is no chance of 32v32 conquest matches on BF1. Obviously there are smaller maps/modes but these are generally not what we play and my suspicion is we would need to lose the amateur element which I for one would not be keen on. The PS4 also doesn’t help by only letting 8 people on one chat group. Sorry to be negative – I could be wrong and would be happy to help/support anyone who wants to get something going.

Maybe the starting point is for someone to say something along the lines of ‘ next Thursday 9pm PH all comers, join the server I am on and starting hunting PH tags’?

And just in case we can’t get this working can I strongly recommend World of Tanks on the PS4 – Pexy, Chunty and I are all well established – it’s a cracking game, yes a bit of a grind but you can get some good team tactics going, and I’m really surprised more aren’t playing. Plus the big bonus, I have yet to spend a penny on it!

Reluctantly agree....

Add in the complexity of work/timings, Steve's racing, my deployments, Judge 2200hrs cut off... but to name a few and i think we would struggle to fill two squads let alone a team frown

The core unit as i see it from the last months play is thus:

LemmingJames
VantageMech
KittySway
Havoc856-S
TheHangingJudge
Chunty101
Slaney
eybic
Pilchard

So that is 9 players, or enough to fill just under two squads. Thats if we can all get on. Stragglers - please don't feel that is an insult - join as and when, Furball tonight etc, but i agree we wouldn't fill a team.

As it goes at least 3-6 of us play of an evening routinely so it's pretty easy to meet up. Stealth entries are pretty achievable too.... Just don't get killed before you get those tags...

WoT is good - arcadey but good and free....

I was being a bit rubbish tonight, haven't played for a few days(that's my excuse)

I'd join people more often but don't seem to have as many of you on my friends list anymore? I usually join lemmingjames if he is playing, I'll have to send out a few friend requests, then I could join easier. I am on pretty regularly.

I purged those who hadn't been 'seen online' in 3 months a few weeks ago, maybe thats it? I had 200 odd people on there and only played regularly with maybe 50 odd.... So it seemed prudent.

Conquest is the real place to see improvement - TD is ok, but it's a bit small and therefore hectic. Conquest is hectic on the flags but you have the opportunity to consider your approach prior to launching your move.

Hello all, and sorry for jumping in this thread but am considering buying this as BF4 seems to have now died a death online. Is it worth it and will I get as much enjoyment as I did from BF4 online?

Cheers

I'd say yes, once you get into it and get some decent guns etc. That's the only thing that's getting on my tits, the whole warbonds set-up and the time it takes to level up etc. I'm enjoying playing as scout online which is something I never did on COD.

I bought Infinite Warfare but only because it's the only way to get Modern Warfare Remastered which I've been hammering almost non stop since I bought it. I thought I'd give IW a try since I did pay for it an all....I managed to last about 5 minutes before I turned it off in disgust and went back to MWR. CoD has been nothing but downhill since MW and World at War IMO.

yes

MW2 was my favourite so I've been even less inclined to buy IW just for MWR, although I'm sure it's a great game I'm not cool with the way they've done it. They should've just put it up as DLC but I guess no one would buy their latest stinker of a game then.

Having played this for a few days without a good squad (randoms or friends) you're doomed...not always to be thrashed over a map but still doomed
