Anyone using the online games thing?

How does it work, is it correct that you can download free older games that last a month?

As far as I'm aware this will launch after the paid-for online subscription service starts.

Ah ok, just got a switch for my daughter and thought it was a free trial or something at first. Haven't really had time to sit down properly with it.

Initiall thoughts are it's quite good but the screen is very small. Perhaps I've just got used to playing on iPad sized screens.

Online is free for the time being but will start charging in the Autumn I think. If you've got Zelda you must confiscate the Switch from your daughter at once.

How is it single player? Im holding off as my wife doesnt like it and one of the joys in the system for me is that most of the games she will play.

Just think battle mode wont be the same without a group or at least one other.

I've never had a Mario Kart before so started out on the 50cc – it's very easy. Even in the 100cc karts it's quite easy to beat the AI, but I've only had them on normal difficulty. Hooked it up to one of the big meeting room TVs at work yesterday evening and four of us sat around with beers and it was just perfect. Lots of shouting/swearing and generally screwing each other over. This is what I bought a Switch for!

Single player is great. You can always go online and get your arse handed to you in every race. Or maybe that's just me.

Annoyed today, my son had his heart set on this and we went in GAME who had loads on the shelves but would only sell to those who had pre-ordered.

He has a 60 pounds GAME voucher so we can't get it anywhere else.

Couldn't you have got your phone out and pre ordered one on their website?

I've never really played Mariokart but finding the single player is great fun. The graphics and track design are great, the selection and customization of vehicles really cool. 50cc is pretty easy, but I guess they make this for young kids too. But as I'm progressing there have been a few tight races where it's pretty exciting at the end. Imagine that will get even more fun with increased difficulty.

I haven't played the multiplayer or online modes yet, but this is where the I think it will be even better, especially when I play against my sons (6 & 12)

No, they won't accept vouchers for pre-orders.

Why didn't you just buy the vouchers off him? Then used them to buy yourself one when the daft pre order process has gone off the boil

We went to another GAME store yesterday and got a copy. I think it was just a case of the first store having low stock and was saving copies for those who had pre-ordered - the assistant did not explain this too well though.

Still, he has the game now and is happy enough - it looks as though it has developed an extra graphical sheen from the original Wii U version.

Yes but as always often the most expensive way of buying the game.

Can you purchase WiiU games via the eshop? One of the best games I have ever played is Mario 3D World.

Loving Mario Kart, online is so addictive and the single player is pretty good. I'm working through 50CC and it's easy so imagine it getting harder as the karts get faster. Still loving Zelda as well, released 2 divine beasts at present.

Overall I think the Switch is a superb console, was unsure whether it'd just be a novelty for me but I love it.

Still on the Mariokart theme, is it worth buying if already owned on the Wii U?

After reading some of the above comments, it seems worth it?
