Good work! I'm currently working towards platinum and doing the blazing sun hunting trials. I've done 3 of the Hunting Grounds so far without too much trouble but, knowing my luck, they were probably the easy ones!

I spent quite a bit of time yesterday trying to clear all the weapon tutorials I had amassed, thinking they would count towards the platinum. Turns out they don't make any difference so, a bit of time wasted. Was quite good fun though.

I'm thinking I might switch back to regular armour for the final mission (which I'm leaving to be the last thing I do in the game) safe in the knowledge that I'll have the shadow weave armour as backup if it all goes tits up...
Google was my friend when getting the trophies as most are hidden on the PS4 trophy list. Have you done the hunting trials with the thunder jaw? That would have been the hardest without the armour but with it I breezed it. Do the last mission without the armour is a good idea as it will be a battle lol.

They are hateful things I agree until you hit the legs a few times and they can no longer dive into the ground. They become a floppy slug then.

Ah, that's the trick is it. I've got the measure of most of the things, but they give me huge problems. As do longlegs for some reason...

The rockbreaker corrupted zone was one of the hardest, I failed my first attempt but sneaked the victory second time round. The strategy I employed was absolute blind panic, constantly rolling and trying not to stay in one place for too long. I focused on one at a time and, once the first one was defeated, the remaining one was much easier to handle.

I did the cauldron with all the bandits this morning which I just found confusing. Once I'd killed the bandits and machines in the main area, I spent far to long walking around looking for something to override and open the door like in all the others. Must have been a good 15 minutes before I realised that I actually had to retrace my steps and fight my way out....D'oh!

Still haven't done the Thunderjaw hunting ground....I'm quite looking forward to that one biggrin

I am over 50% of the way through and level 35 but haven't done the cauldrons yet. I need to, I think, as they are the only way to get the overrides on more of the mechs - but I hate them as they're too dark and waypoints a little too vague.

I did try the one where you have to shoot the centers of these rotating wheels to climb up through to the other areas, but I got so frustrated I gave up and loaded a save from before I attempted it. I have been in fear of these cauldrons ever since, I seem to spend hours in them getting stuck!

I think they are mostly supposed to be a bit of a puzzle, although the thunderjaw one is quite straight forward, probably because they feel that fighting the thunderjaw in an enclosed arena is probably enough for you to be getting on with hehe

The one with the wheels was probably the most complicated one to navigate. I don't remember shooting the wheels though, I just jumped across using the handholds as they rotated and occasionally had to find an override switch to remove a barrier.

ETA: It is perfectly possible that I'm thinking of a different cauldron and you're talking about another one that I haven't come across yet!

I completed the game last weekend, and was on about 80% - Have done all cauldrons (took me ages to work out how to get out of the bandits one too!), all corrupted areas, found all the collectibles, all side missions I think - apart from the Hunting ones which I could never be bothered with - although now I have much better weapons they're much easier so might go back and finish them). Still never managed to get that special armour - Even after googling for instructions, I still didn't find all the power thingies, might have to go back to those another time.

Agree about the rockbreakers, they were the worst of all the machines, however I did find that there was always a fairly large rock sticking out of the ground in their area that they wouldn't break and you'd be safe to stand on top of it, although you'd still need to move around to dodge the rocks they throw at you. As for the Thunderjaws, I usually managed to find somewhere in the rocks where they couldn't quite get to you and you could just pelt them with bombs / arrows etc. Took me a while to work that out.

I might go back and try to get 100% at some point, but as always when completing a game, my interest has gone a bit now, but I loved playing it - It takes a lot for me to get really immersed in a game nowadays and see it through to the end, but this one definitely hit the spot.

Last night I managed to do the 'Deep Secrets of the Earth' and 'Terror of the Sun' quests, I died once in the latter. I also managed to do the Cauldron Sigma quest.
I think I will try for the other cauldrons and also try for the last two power cells to get the special armour before progressing on the final main quests, to help offset my crappy aiming...

Excellent progress thumbup Your aiming may not be as crappy as you think, the machines are a bugger to hit when they're thrashing about!

I did the sun furrows Hunting Grounds this morning (the thunderjaw one) and managed a blazing sun on each trial on the first attempt. All three took less than 7 minutes in total which was a surprise! I think it would be do-able without the armour but, you would want a few overshields or full health potions crafted and full meds in reserve.

I then went on to do the stealth Hunting ground and, the hardest one for me was stealth killing 4 watchers within the blazing sun time limit.. Took a couple of tries that one!

Checked my stats and I've played 51 hours so far and am at about 75% completion. I have quite a few side quests to complete, one more corrupted zone, a couple of bandit camps and I think another cauldron that I must have missed somewhere. Then there are the collectables and of course, the final mission. My guesstimate is at least another 10 - 15 hours, maybe more. Annoying for my mate who I promised to lend the game to when I'd finished it hehe

Its worth doing it to get 100%. Not all side missions need doing but some are a must for a trophy. I did the bandit camps before I finished the final mission. With the special armor I would probably just go in all arrows blazing find the bandit with the big gun and take them all out with the big gun. That armor is seriously strong.

I found scavenging the 4 boxes from the crabs hard on the stealth trial. I brought some shadow stealth armor from the vendor at the ground which made it easier to get the Watchers. When I had to kill the 2 stealth machine things I just equipped the special Armor and speared them to death haha.

I honestly think that stealth armor should be a reward for completing the main story. Then it can be used for the sides and challenges.

Ironically, the watcher trial was the only stealth trial that actually requires you to use stealth.

My approach to the crab scavenging trial was somewhat more aggressive and used precisely zero stealth! hehe As soon as I dropped of the ropes, I hit one of the crabs on the right with a couple of tear blast arrows to knock his crate off then ran into the madness and looted that and the static crate as quickly as possible. Then, ran to the left and did the same thing over there. It was all a bit mad but, over quite quickly on the first attempt.

Ahh that was a typo on my behalf. I meant the special armor should be a reward for completing the mission not the stealth armor. You are correct the stealth armor is only of use for them trials.

If you've Platinumed the game and haven't had an email after about a week with a code for the Platinum theme download, give Sony a call on 0203 538 2665 (think it's option 2 - whichever one PlayStation Network is)

I did this and they activated the theme on my account within 24 hours. They said that apparently there is a delay for people using "private" email servers (e.g. not GMail, etc) receiving the email, but that they can activate it manually. They said they'd had about 15 people phone up about it so far.

For the first time in well over a decade, this game held my attention throughout and I completed it yesterday, and have every intention of playing it again.

I managed to do all cauldrons and all power cells for the special armour (and was on level 50). I am glad I didn't get this armour earlier, as it is very over-powered and I breezed through the last couple of set-piece finals. This was OK for me, though, as I enjoyed the story more than faffing with 'boss-fights'

Too many good bits to single any one out, but I did love the way I could pick off enemies (human and mech) from afar and/or set traps before a fight using mines and tripwires, luring Thunderjaws to them...

ETA - I like the fact that when the game finishes, it allows you to restart from the point just before the final quest, so you can finish off other side quests if you so wish. My completion percentage was 82% (and the amount of hours is quite scary), but I didn't do the hunting lodge trials.

I agree. Only Destiny has managed to keep me consistently as interested and has had me loading the game up for just 20 or 30 minutes play when I have some free time. This is why I'm leaving the final mission until the end and mopping up all the other errands, missions and collectables first, I want to drag it out for as long as I possibly can.

All the content is now very easy to complete (level 50, all skills unlocked and shadow weave armour) so, getting platinum is just a matter of time. I don't regret picking up the armour when I did though, as I felt I had played through a lot of tough content to get it and that it was a worthy reward. Next time I play through the story however, I plan to do so without the getting the special armour at all.

Bought a Panasonic 4K HDR TV on the weekend, hooked it up to my PS4 Pro and bought this game. Wow it really does look amazing especially with HDR enabled! Although it does sounds like the PS4 is working hard though, noisiest it has ever been, fans kicking off big time.

I played (and still am playing it, started over) it on an OLED 4k HDR TV with a standard PS4 and it looks stunning. I am not sure if HDR would make a difference to the overall experience.

Standard PS4 also has HDR if TV supports it.

On mine, the screen goes pink when I enable HDR, would that be the HDMI lead?

ETA - It can't be as it's the exact same make of lead for the rest of my AV stuff (All bought at the same time), including a 4k HDR BR player!

ETA - 2 - Solved the problem, it was a setting that needed to be changed on my Denon AV receiver, I now can play in HDR mode!
