250 hours?? That's how long LC has spent in his menu hehe
hehe

I don't think I could even begin to estimate my hours spent playing even if I wanted to, I've deleted (and re-levelled) at least 3 characters over the years.

excellent - shame some of your clan!!

Destiny Tailor (highlights your best gear setups) and Days with Destiny (shows a map of days where you have played and how many hours. Pretty scary...) are other good sites to check out

Christ, it's not the 900 hours total that's bad for me, more that I once spent 19 hours in a day on it (Crota's End launch)

I do loves me some menu actionbiggrin Thinking about it; "Guardian down! Are you in your menu again?" was a bit of a catchphrase wasn't it? Adam berated me a couple of times for dying in Trials whilst in my menu. My response? "I'm just changing my shader aren't I" biggrin

Only 599 0 deleted, definitely a light weight.

Someone needs to add a drink tracker to these, do I play better with a cheeky Beaujolais or frosty Pils, what happens to my KDR if I introduce a post dinner digestive, I need these answers.

So, given the fact that you've spent twice as long playing as most of us, how come you're still so very, very bad at the game?

I know I make being bad look easy, it's not though. It takes a lot practice.

This is the actual URL: www.wastedondestiny.com

For me, it's 1289h (7 weeks 4 days 17 hours 15 minutes 16 seconds).

What could I have done in that time instead? Traveled the world, learnt a language, become a black belt karate ninja dude. Even if I settled for a minimum wage job of £7.20 an hour, that time would have earned me £26,215.20!

This game is a ridiculous time black hole. I'll still buy the sequel though.

It's a bit like TV though - for a lot of people if you tracked their time spent watching TV it would rack up hundreds of hours per year. I think the average is 3 hours 52 per day which equates to around 1400 hours per year.

Was listening to a podcast today that was discussing the possibility of users jumping platforms, ie from PS4 to Xbox, or from Xbox to PC, and what factors they were considering. It was quite an interesting discussion.

Essentially, Xbox owners have so far had a bit of a raw deal with the game, as PS3/4 had exclusivity on ships, maps, even some exotic weapons. Sony have said they have some exclusivity in place for Destiny 2 as well, but haven't yet divulged what that will include. So, PS4 owners will be sticking with Ps4, right?

Well, they then raised the subject of Xbox Scorpio. In terms of a hardware it is leaps and bounds more powerful than the base Xbox One, and is potentially going to be noticeably stronger than even PS4 Pro. Could Microsoft then counter with native 4k presentation, or offer 60 frames per second at 1080p? If so, that might swing people back towards Xbox.

Unless you're a PC gamer at least. In terms of sheer performance, PC will be the place to go, the only limit is the depth of your wallet. Plus, mouse and keyboard control will appeal to a lot of games who feel a controller is too imprecise for competitive FPS gameplay.

Personally, I think the ultimate deciding factor, above and beyond all the above, is buying the game on the same platform as your established friends. Whilst I will buy a Scorpio, unless there's a radical difference in performance between Pro and Scorpio, I'm still most likely to stick with the PS4 game. Frankly, Destiny isn't Destiny if I can't punch Lovechild off a cliff, or laugh at Speckle for... well, just being Speckle really.

As an addendum, when I'm making reference to 4K / 60fps above, I'm just playing devil's advocate. Given that both Microsoft and Sony still have to support the game on base One and PS4 hardware, I don't think we'll see any major leaps between platforms. You're not actually going to get 1080p/30 on PS4, and then 4k/60fps on Scorpio, for instance. There might be a 4k mode for Pro and Scorpio, sure, but I'd be amazed (and pleasantly surprised!) if they do try to offer 60fps on console.

I totally agree on the "buy where your friends are".

On the Xbox side of things I'm quite intrigued to see who (ms or Sony) gets cross play with the PC players, if anyone. Gears 4 was an interesting case where they allowed cross play on all co-op modes and only disabled it for PvP.

I'm also intrigued to see if they can swing a cross-buy deal between D2 on the Xbox and on the PC. A combo of both cross buy and cross play would open up a huge player pool...But is probably very unlikely.

Likewise Sony have done cross-ply with PC before so they could also bagsy that...
