Nope. I get excited when I find one but then if I have an auto something and maybe a shotgun I just leave it.
It could be useful later stage if you can find someone and take them out without being spotted/heard and giving your position away.

I always ignore it, no idea if it has a 1 hit kill possibility, but it takes all week to reload. Even the revolver is better

And how do you join or host or join custom games? Do you need the test server install?

Got to be a "special" person AFAIK. Aka famous YouTube person, or pro gamer or developer.

Just got first duo dinner with Faze, 3 kills between us.. My only kill was the last guy.

But then, you only need to kill one guy to win wink

After doing fairly well last week I'm barely lasting through the first stages of the game now. My last two play sessions have been a lesson in frustration. Keep getting nailed by people just camping out in houses and I'm not talking about busy areas either but buildings out in the middle of nowhere.

Is this a new style of play people are adopting? Just seems to a be a lot more campers now. At any rate I'm not finding it very fun.

Could be match making kicking in? Now taking on higher ranked players with different tactics?

Or maybe it's just not your day. I had a couple of dire solo's yesterday where I just couldn't focus on it properly and switched off. Only to be enticed back for 2 duo's - one of which we won playing in a very risk adverse and careful manner..

It can be up and down this game.

Some days I'm good and it feels easy, others it feels like im the bottom of the pack getting killed all the time and constantly losing firefights and/or the battle for loot.

Squads/Duos is more consistent.

When I first started playing I was very much into the 'hiding simulator' aspect. So would rush into the first 2 or 3 buildings I saw, gather any weapons and then pick a spot to hide in. The tactic would work quite well on occasion (especially if you ended up in the initial circle) as you'd often get the chance to take out a highly geared player passing through and take their loot.

I think this tactic is adopted by a lot of new/inexperienced players while they are still getting to grips with the game. It lost it's appeal to me as it was (a) a bit dull, and (b) was not helping me improve as a player. It was all very well stealing someones gear but if you can't use it very well in the late game then what's the point?

After watching a few youtube videos to get some hints I've got a lot better and find the game more enjoyable.

Try staking out the building/group of buildings for 30 seconds before you go in, look for any movement. Also weigh up the risk/reward of fully exploring the building, be aware that if someone is camping it's quite likely they'll be waiting at the top of the stairs (I speak from experience wink)

If it's early on and I'm miles from the initial circle I'm a lot less cautious as most people will already be heading in, but I approach any building still in the circle on the assumption it is occupied.

Hmm didn't realise skill based matchmaking had been implemented but that sort of makes sense. Still annoying that I seem to keep running into people just waiting at the top of stairs in a building in a middle of nowhere. If that's what the higher level players get up to, it must be a very boring way to play.

I think I may try duo or squad for a change.

Had fun last night.

Got an ok load out and holed up for a bit in a house. Circle moved so I had to relocate, came out of the house and got shot at, managed to escape and bandage up before heading towards the circle. Now I realised I was between the circle and matey boy. Got just inside and down on my belly and waited. With the wall closing in I spot a runner. Take a pot shot but missed and he panics. Back and forth across the plain he goes stopping so I can take a shot, reaches a tree and hides but the wall is coming so he panics and runs again straight at me. Easy kill now.

Loot unfortunately out in the open and other side of the wall. But it was a fun ambush.

Had a few games last night myself actually for the first time in a couple of weeks.

Only game to note was one where I dropped, looted a compound and then the airdrop landed in a field next to me, ran and grabbed it, somehow dodging some distant sniper shots while doing so. Picked up an AWM with an 8x in the box. Easy win from here on out I say hehe. The circle then lands over the bridge and I have to sprint for it and luckily there is a buggy which i jump in and head over the bridge luckily there were no campers!!!, head to a woody area and watch for people in boats. Manage to get a couple of long range kills due to the sheer firepower of the 1 shot AWM. The circle then passes me and I realise I have forgotten all about it.

Dead due to circle, balls.

Ha, yeah had that as well.
Snuck into one of the later circles. Knew a guy was hiding but couldn't locate him. Got into a battle with him and ran out of ammo. Walked backward to reload straight through the circle.

oops.

Does being outside the circle later in the game cause more damage than early on? I only ask because I sometimes get caught without a vehicle miles away from the circle at the start, and seem to be able to sprint for ages and not die.

Last night I was down to the last 15, lying prone between a rock and bush just inside the circle. Saw someone a short distance away going into a wooden hut, but then another player creeping past me, no more than a few feet away. Obviously hadn't seen me so I took them down, but wasn't sure what the hut guy was up to. Circle starts to close in, so I run up to the hut and lob a grenade in just in case. By this time the circle had moved over me so I head in, but suddenly notice my health is almost zero and before I can do anything I'm dead (came 11th, so just missed out on a first top 10 as well frown)

I must have been outside the circle for no more than 30 seconds, but in that time I lost all my health? Pretty sure no-one shot at me, the only other thing could be I was too close to the grenade.

In a word yes.

The circle damage doubles I think with each consecutive circle so the first couple you can pretty much just run through without taking too much damage and just patch yourself up with meds later, however they get worse and worse until the last few circles basically cause insta-death if you are in them for anything more than 2-3 seconds, even with full health.

I also understand that if you take damage when outside the play area it's double.

Don't know if this has been posted yet, but quite interesting if you were curious as to weapon damage/range etc
