Top 10 finish with 2 kills.
Circles centred on me and I was in a well equipped house with good sight lines.
Until suddenly I was on the wrong side of the island for the final sections and had to swim across, made it and just nudged into the circle before it closed. Got sniped heading inland.
Good fun.

Anyone come across any cheats?

Pretty sure I had a wallhack today. Holed up in a house stuffed with weapons so I'd left them lying around, doors closed.
I heard him arrive in a car and positioned myself upstairs with a view of the stairs. I can hear him opening doors etc. I've not moved.
Next thing, hail of bullets and I'm dead, didn't even see him.

I don't think there are specific cheats but the game is still in beta and there are glitches. I've seen Youtube videos where someone could see straight into a building.

Fair point. I've been playing games long enough to know when something is a bit off. Glitch or cheat, prepared to give the benefit of the doubt.

Was on for a top 5 finish at least but got greedy with my SKS (favourite weapon so far) and was racking up the kills with the stragglers racing for the tiny circle and failed to notice I myself had little health left so when the blue wall of death reached me I died about 2 metres from safety. Still finished 8th though

I'm sure there are cheats, but lag is the biggest issue I've seen when it comes to dying without seeing an enemy or other oddities. I've also had several instances of buildings not rendering in properly; I can see windows and the interiors, but the walls are invisible. I've yet to actually see anyone inside a building like that though.

Yep. Although Playerunknown's Battle Royale is way harder and the games last much longer.

Monthly patch notes suggest that unscrupulous players could delete certain files which would remove the outer walls of buildings.. This is now fixed and may explain some deaths I've had in Solo..

What engine does it us, Same as Arma or is this a new standalone?

It's a different engine. Battlegrounds uses the Unreal Engine 4 whereas Arma 3 uses Real Virtuality 4 engine.

PUBG is an arcade like version of Battle Royale for Arma 3. The map is smaller than all the maps offered in BR, the loot is better, the cars are more plentiful and it's far easier to get to grips with. The plus side is that it's possible to start a game and win in about 20 minutes whereas BR you're looking at a 45 minutes for a game if you make it to the final 5.

I guess the best way of describing it is a perfect mixture of Battle Royale and King of the Hill.
