Yesterday I was A/S, after some rounds on that bloody Maggiore East in the Alteza I was then B/B, now due to some idiot slamming his brakes on every time I got close I've ended up D/E! eek
I wonder how quick I can get back up? Today's dailt at Alsace in the Lancer GrB roadcar will help, what an excellent combination biggrin

The fact that people can cause you to ram them with no penatly is such a huge flaw frown

Edit: Out of interest, I will chart my progress

I was getting punted constantly at Maggiore East last night. So much so that I was getting punted into others causing them to flash me thinking it was my fault. I was in a race full of B/S drivers (not sure if the pun was intended or not) so it wasn't me mate smile

13 points per clean Daily C.

Meanwhile, you should be winning.

You can see why some people have dropped their levels deliberately to chalk up the wins.

Exactly. Pretty much all of those races I didn't get bothered by anyone at all, I was just hot lapping.
2nd and 3rd were always too busy fighting each other to chase for 1st, so it's easy wins from the front of the grid

I'm seriously considering just playing dirty smile

I've been racing less and less as it's been winding me up! I'm stuck at B/S and it seems impossible to progress just by playing clean..the trouble is I know I won't enjoy dirty racing, I guess the alternative is a couple of years practice to get fast, qualify on pole and win by 10secs smile

I think it's telling that the number of players racing online is in steady decline

To get a jump out of a rut you just need to wait for a combination that you do well at naturally. Get a decent qualifying time and you should have a very good chance of winning or a high position.
I’ve done it today as can be seen above, and many times in the past too.
I mainly avoid tracks I don’t like, that makes life a lot easier straight away.
There’s no point racing on a track or in a car you don’t enjoy

I keep trying to get into the on-line racing but it's beset with such general muppetry in the driving standards that i find it enormously frustrating.

For me GT Sport has basically become a dedicated Nordschleife simulator where i can happily while away a few hours lapping the ring in various bits of kit for nothing more than my own entertainment.

Learning to drive everything with no driver aids and a manual 'box gives it so utterly engaging I don't need to use the rest of the game. The F40 is a particular favourite at the moment.
That said today I did a lap in the Peugeot LMP1 car today in 5.32.7 which I don't think I'm going to improve on anytime soon.

Anyone else find the same, or I am the only one not engaging in the on-line racing?

Agreed. And I think that's why the number of racers has declined as people have now got their favourites. They need to double the number of dailies ASAP. And add more tracks, obvs.

hi all. my young son has an xbox one and plays forza, i must admit that i cant get into it as pretty much from the outset you are gifted some top end cars. i was a ps2 player years ago and like that in GT you had to start off small and tune up, building the garage up gradually. is the new GT on PS4 along those lines?

If I don't fancy the online races I'll switch to Assetto Corsa, sometimes I'll redo the circuit experience stuff.

I no longer bother with Sport mode to be honest.

it is one of the most frustrating things I have ever experienced in many years of gaming.

Very poorly done, extremely biased to corner cutters, off roaders and even to rammers. I would rather just take my chances than be part blamed for someone driving like an idiot. The pathetic thing is a lot of people think its amazing just because it judges others and them

They clearly never have played Iracing, a far better system where going off track also incurs penaltys and is very easy to police.

Was gonna say - have you tried assetto corsa? I am the same only really play on nordschleife and a few other tracks on GT:S. But the driving experience is just so much better in AC (assuming you're playing with a wheel given the mention of manual changes). The range of cars is also great. Lotus 72 fully manual with 3 pedals and a shifter round the ring is brilliant. So is the Ford Escort.

Sadly pretty much everything else apart from the driving, the cars and the tracks (i.e. the actual game stuff) is better in GT:S

+1 if you just enjoy hot lapping Assetto Corsa is far superior to GT.

Just tested a theory. I love the Cayman and I love Brands, so thought I would try today.

I set a time. The fastest guys were 5 seconds a lap quicker, God knows how. I have seen examples of massive cuts etc, whatever, I don't care enough to bother.

Had a couple of races, first one they put me second row. Not bad, stayed out of trouble, did OK. Second one I was 10th, same time, same everything.

Obviously race was a disaster, rage quit after taking out a few rammers, satisfying, but as I will rarely play Sport mode anymore, I don't care about rating was simply testing an idea. Next race back up front again on the grid.

I am convinced they start you all over the grid, regardless of your times. As I say, if you set a time, do a bunch of races and you will be all over the grid. UP front the grid was close, tenths in it. Mid grid, there would be one freak up front seconds faster than everyone and the field close,. It s all designed, purposeful, deliberate I think.

This is to test your resolve and your ability to hit or not hit.

The only way round this is to be alien fast, so the game is sifting out anyone who is not mega fast.

I have seen bumpers cars on youtube in top class racing too, not as much, but still there.

The only reason you are all over the grid is because it is obviously a different selection of players every time you do the race!
I've been pole with a time in one race and then near the back with the same time in the next.
Its pure chance to what times you will be placed with in a race

I downloaded it a couple of months back - had a quick go but didn't gel with it immediately as I did with GTS, Dirt Rally and Drive Club.
I take is Asset Corsa is worth persevering with?
