I would say yes it is...I do play more GTS than AC, I think it's easier for me to jump into a race on GTS, I know the tracks and the cars, AC feels more serious, all the cars feel different and I'm having to learn new tracks...the feel of AC is really good though!

Just tested a theory. I love the Cayman and I love Brands, so thought I would try today.

I set a time. The fastest guys were 5 seconds a lap quicker, God knows how. I have seen examples of massive cuts etc, whatever, I don't care enough to bother.

Had a couple of races, first one they put me second row. Not bad, stayed out of trouble, did OK. Second one I was 10th, same time, same everything.

Obviously race was a disaster, rage quit after taking out a few rammers, satisfying, but as I will rarely play Sport mode anymore, I don't care about rating was simply testing an idea. Next race back up front again on the grid.

I am convinced they start you all over the grid, regardless of your times. As I say, if you set a time, do a bunch of races and you will be all over the grid. UP front the grid was close, tenths in it. Mid grid, there would be one freak up front seconds faster than everyone and the field close,. It s all designed, purposeful, deliberate I think.

This is to test your resolve and your ability to hit or not hit.

The only way round this is to be alien fast, so the game is sifting out anyone who is not mega fast.

I have seen bumpers cars on youtube in top class racing too, not as much, but still there.
The game matches on SR primarily.

You're five seconds off the fastest racers because they're five seconds faster than you. In the vast majority of cases that isn't because they're cheating, they're just better at the game.

I think you need to spend some time learning how the game works. The harsh reality beyond that is that you need to get better at it. I can say with relative certainty that others aren't going to slow down, you need to speed up.

As I said previously, I think the game isn't for you and you need to try something else.

I'm trying that round nordschleife - no tuning, BoP on, RH tyres - It's taking bloody ages! laugh

I'm probably not good enough for a very useful compare tho - so far I have about 6-7 cars around 6:45 - 6:50, a couple 6:55 ish and I think hurucan around 7:05!!
Didn't fancy the gr3 daily yesterday so spent another few hours on this last night.
Alfa 4c GT3 feels (and sounds) nice, lots of grip and precise but just doesn't seem to have much speed.
Huracan before the update was sliding everywhere - now i am capable of actually getting it round and it's still a bit evil esp riding kerbs and braking seems a little weak but it can be a quick car - finally wrestled it down to 6:47 or something.

I will start now with the car on which I have the slowest lap time and keep going until it moves up the board, see where I get to. I think its the Nissan GTR next

Assetto Corsa is worth persevering with.

When I first got the PS4, AS was the first game I got and it took quite a bit of time to get used to it. Once GTS arrived, I have spent more time playing that and it is very hard to get into AS then it is the other way around. You can really feel the understeer/oversteer/neutrality of the handing in AS and it is so rewarding, although frustrating at the same time.

As mentioned earlier, The Mk1 Escort is an absolute joy to drive.

Would any of the PH GT massive be interested in an Endurance race event. I have no idea on a track or class yet but wondering if there would be any interest.

Any thoughts?

I could be interested in a weekend.

Does anyone know what the hell has happened to the game though? Been having a CoD fest for the last few days, gone on GT today and everything Gr.3 car now drives like st and wants to drift in 4th gear? Has yet another update made the game worse to play on a pad?

I'd be interested in that but could only manage Sunday afternoon/evening. If there is enough interest maybe make it multiclass?

Simply don't play it anymore.

One of the most frustrating experiences in my life playing Sport mode I have to say.

I don't profess to be fast especially on console games, but playing the way I do with a pad and in car is a bad start. I will not change this so simply will not play Sport mode anymore. I can be top 5 on most public servers on AC and other games so clearly playing the way I do is massively affecting my speed.

Which really means I will not play GTS anymore as it is designed around online play, and I will never pay for online play as the benefits are not worth it.

When you can play any game pretty in the PC world for free.

Console users are setting a dangerous precedent by doing so in my eyes. Just allowing Sony and Microsoft to give you less for more.

Are you REALLY happy to be PAYING to play your game online when all they really offer back are a bunch of substandard games as free.

Short answer, yes.

I spent years as a PC only sim racer, great fun, much better graphically etc etc and of course free online servers on pretty much everything, baring iRacing of course.

However, to do so requires a pretty decent PC, to be honest to get the full effects (inc VR) it requires a pretty top end PC, I am pretty sure my PS subscription costs me far far less a year than what I spent constantly improving my PC as every new release required more power.

Console racing will never be up there with PC I guess but for what I play it these days, it more than suffices.

OK, OK!

Sell it. I don't understand why you keep turning it on and then posting how st it is. Play something else.

PSN or X-Box live cost less than a quid a week.I see that as good value. It depends how your perception of that value is defined on a personal level.

My PS4 w/PSplus subscription is dead convenient to just to pick up and play, I’m a bit of an idiot when it comes to PC stuff (Have a Mac which is good enough for me) so having a little black box that just works with no compatibility/settings worries is perfect for me.

If you can be bothered to muck about with a PC then I’m sure it’s way better but I even struggle to remember to charge my DS4 sometimes smile

Ps Allaloneatron I’d be up for the enduro, mixed class sounds fun as well!

ok. It looks like there might be some interest in a PH endurance event. I will do a separate thread and see what interest I get.

Mixed class is tricky but I will see.

Pretty poor choice of daily races, it’s not often that none appeal!
Gr1 at Big Willow is an evil combination! They are bad enough at Monza with people knocking you off due to not being quick enough for the cars, I don’t think I’ll even bother trying a race at BW, which is normally one of my favourite tracks

I think R34 at Suzuka is the most appealing but I don't have time to do anything other than my 26 miles to get the free car today.

Much as I like Big Willow the Gr1 cars are abit too hyper for me, I much prefer the, steady as she goes, road cars, I did manage to drop 40 odd sr points at Tokyo though smile more people seem to be getting to grips with bump drafting which is nice.

Did that race today, just got docked a load of SR points for my bump drafting, 2 races and dropped from C to E. So I’m giving up on trying to do anything with that now I’ll just race and what happens happens

I like to bump draft gives me something to do on that long straight! Looking at the stats I only dropped 20 points tonight, I've dropped 41 since monday.
Racing and what happens happens is a good philosophy..
