The same cars on the same tracks.....
How many cars are in this game? Yet the same handful repeat over and over for the one make.
They could have had a different one every day and hardly repeated if at all up to now!

Nothing of great interest on the mileage exchange etc etc
I'm probably missing out on the main point of GTS which is the online racing, I only ever do qualifying time trial.

But I'm not sure i actually enjoy playing the game. The visuals and sounds are great but the driving is boring. I have turned CSA on now and ABS at default - which in other driving games I'd never normally do, but everyone else does it (it is faster), I don't like the TC, and its not enjoyable enough for me to persevere without these aids. Unlike AC for example where I push myself to actually improve my driving. But I give it a half hour where I can to see where I am on my friends leaderboards, and also get my daily prize car. If I have an hour free tho, I'll do the minimum in GTS and then go play something else. AC, dirt rally, even F1 2017 (if I've got loads of time!)
Other than ABS the aids don't make you faster - certainly not over one lap. However, they do make your pace more consistent.

In a nut shell....

Dragon trail variations
New Supra
Blue flags
Sports mode changes
And other bits and bobs

Just waiting for the blue flags to come on when you’re in the lead and someone is behind you now. Then there’ll be a patch to fix that.

I saw... what's the problem... somehting to do with notifications? Few in the chat are missing you, and we'd love to see you back smile

CBA. It can take fking ages to nail the lap on the controller. I think I did >50 laps on Dragon Trail yesterday learning the track and trying different lines with a couple of different cars. I probably did about 20 sub 1:38 chasing an opt. of 1:37.1

On two occasions I had it hooked up looking at something like a 37.2-3 going in to the final section when notifications started flashing up and I got momentarily distracted and a/ ran wide and got a penalty and b/ clipped a kerb and dropped the time. I deal with enough st IRL to not need it online, too. If it's not fun or satisfying, what's the point.

If you're not enjoying it then of course it's best not to do it!

I'm not a fan of the new track - just has no flow to it at all. Got my Suzuka time in 10 laps, and then spent the next hour trying different cars to find something I could set a half way respectable time in.

By the way... you can disable the notification pop ups (if that helps at all).

I actually quite like some of it. There are some nods to modern F1 circuits and a mixture of different corners. It's nowhere near their worst. All my time was in the first chicane and the 3rd/4th gear left/right half way through the lap. I was consistent to the 1/10th in the rest.

I'm going to do my mileage allowance to get the free cars and give the rest a break for a while.

I Loaded it up, did two laps on the new track, bought the paints from last week before they updated today and turned it off again.
I love the game but bored sick of the repetition of it all

The AI does absolutely nothing different when faced with a blue flag.

The X bow was great yesterday. Tried a few cars but didn't really get to grips with the new track, tried it in reverse in a campaign race, it's surprisingly hilly! I don't think I'll ever get bored with a couple of A races a day.

Problem is, without the campaign mode really playing as much a part as it did in old GT's this game has no stick ability.

Online Sport mode is massively hit and miss and is over and done with fairly quickly.

So, unless you enjoy painting and decaling, what is there to do.

Other than play something else11
They do keep adding to campaign mode with each update, if that helps.

I find I'm enjoying it a lot more than Forza 7.

definitely turn notifications off!! I also turned off the thing that tells me what the name of the music track is when it comes on. What's the point if I can't actually choose which tracks I want (or don't want...)

I've not done any daily races for weeks now, I only race with my regular group on an evening in a open 'clean or kick' lobby. 10min qually, 5-7 lap race followed by a track vote. Keeps me entertained enough!

This takes hthebiscuit.

The most pathetic piece of crap I have ever, ever seen in a game in my life.

Campaign mode Ferrari challenge event.

All models. Picked 458, sport tyres soft no other mods.

6 laps.

Got through pack to find the expected and the same every race 3 car group miles faster than everyone else.

As usual again as in every race, a leader makes a break as soon as I get to 4th place and starts lapping miles faster than he was before.

I catch and pass. My best laptime at this point is something like 2m13, track does'nt matter.

I pass leader who was easy to catch if you are consistent, then, AI suddenly finds the ability to not slide, go seconds a lap faster, brake perfectly when he wasn't before.

And amazingly of all, miraculously some guy in the pack pulls a 2.05 out of the bag. As I am in front of course.

You tell me this entire game, Sport mode, campaign, every single time you go on track other than time trial, is not fixed, being run by some bullst algorithm or something.

it is the worst piece of coding I have seen for many a years. the sort of thing you expect to find in a Spectrum game or an Amiga game, not that that took years to make, employs hundreds of coders.

The REAL driving Simulator. Don't make me laugh Kaz, what a piece of garbage, you wouldn't know real if it punched you in the face.

In fairness Kaz does actually race in real life smile

I think the idea with the campaign races is to tune the cars, you can slaughter the AI then.

I don't consider it the 'real' driving sim anymore. Its too much like an arcade game now with the BOP and penalty systems. In the old days i would have spent hours driving a car, making adjustments and nailing apexes. Now i will just jump on it for an hour IF the daily races are interesting.

It stopped being a driving sim when half the cars aren’t available in real life. It reminds me of COD when that went futuristic.

GT has never been a sim, handling on the cars is still biased towards more arcade gameplay even with the improvements in the last few years. Either that or cars I dream about owning are all understeering piles of crap...
