Any ideas for reducing braking distances? Brake balance hasn't made the difference. Looking at about 40m braking distance into the final chicane at the 'ring GP, for example.

Off the top of my head about 2 tenths slower on the circuit experience, as for braking distance I've no idea, it feels a bit inconsistent but that could just be me or my pedals, I do feel that Nurburg is one of those tracks where less is more and patience is rewarded.

I ended up with the brake balance all the way to the front in the 911, I'll probably try another car tomorrow.

I'm a second faster on the circuit experience - like for like in the AMG. Just feels like less grip everywhere.

If I do an absolutely perfect lap in the 911 (and I think I've done 500 miles on there now) I can see 1:56.9. I can't find the traction.

Kie25 does a good track guide, he pauses at the braking points, at normal speed it looks like he brakes quite late but when you see his inputs on the paused screen it's not that late, he definitely gets on the throttle hard and early though.

Kie's track guides are really good and have helped me out more often then not. LB, I don't suppose you have a link to the GT Planet thread regarding using a the TM shifter with the G29 you mentioned last week? I just can't seem to find it and seem to be trawling from noon to night.

I also read that the penalty system from the world finals are making their way to the game.

That's good news about the penalty system, I've had a nightmare this week, SR B is not a good place to be smile

Thanks so much mate. Much appreciated.

This new spent penalty system is very much needed but the penalty system overall needs to be looked at, especially when getting hit from behind and your SR drops. Not great.

Can't believe this game has been around for just over a year. Madness.

Normally when you do a load of laps and try different lines to optimise you'll find a chunk of time in a corner or sector. Not the case here. I'm now well into the territory of "over-driving" and pushing too much. Even been trying different controller configurations. banghead

I found a tenth after 15 laps, switched to La Sarthe and found 2 secs there and stayed within track limits, there's obviously time to be had at Nurburg but god only knows where, watching aliens it's not like they do anything where I go, oh ok, that's where the time is, and yet they're 2 secs a lap faster than me smile, I do wonder if they've figured something out around the non linear throttle..

@ Viggy no worries mate, I priced up the Fanatec loadcell pedals, shifter and handbrake, add in the drivehub and it's a bit too pricey for me.

There's definitely something about a set throttle position. I can't be consistent enough on the shoulder button to replicate it. I can see a 56.6 now but I've not strung it together.

When I was in Kie25's lobby last week it was surprising how "normal" the aliens were on the brakes and turn in, he's quite open about what he does and describes it as applying throttle to settle the car, then when he feels the traction's there, it's straight to full throttle....simples smile

I think the force feedback allows you to feel how much you're pushing the front. Then there seems to be a throttle position almost all the guys use which gives them the initial traction before they transition to full gas.

I'm the same, I watch a top 10 lap in the same car and yes they are later on the brakes and quicker on the throttle but 3 seconds at nurburgring! I'm on a low 58, probably got a mid 57 in me with another hour or two.

It was useful to watch at Le sarthe tho as that's basically a lesson in pushing track limits. Found 10 seconds there!

I've shared my 57.1. You can see obvious parts where I drop 0.1 here and there. There's over 0.2 in the last chicane.

hope we get Fuji added to the circuit experience and the new penalty zones.
Next weeks races look decent
Gr4 at Fuji GT
Gr3 at Interlagos
Gr2 at Suzuka 10 x tyre, 5 x fuel.

Had almost 40 laps straight on nurburgring. For the first 37 of them I couldn't get much better than a mid 58 (with an option time of 57.3). Just about to give up frustrated and then suddenly got a 57.9 and next lap 57.6!

That'll do me. Hate nurburgring and gr1 so looking forward to next week's combos

I'm giving qualifying a miss this week...just going to do some races and try and recover some SR after my red C debacle in the group B FIA smile. Nice to see a good mix of cars in Race B, I'm going Aston as I'm using it in the Manufacturers.

I think I need to take part in the FIA races as watching the live streams and really enjoying them.

Managed to space my G29 pedals further apart so will see if there's much of a difference later on.
