Had a go at gr3 at N24 circuit last night (just qually time trial).
I can see why done people are called aliens, watching the fastest time replay, the guy was pretty much on a different planet to me, and over 30 seconds quicker! I blame my car tho for at least 5 of those seconds no one seems to be using the amg Merc to set quick times.

Only did manufacturers last night, started 6th and was 17th at the end of lap one, having been 4th before the final turn! Eventually finished 10th, despite being on the wrong end of some questionable moves I enjoyed it, and thought the Gr4 cars suited that track pretty good.
@castex there's a few good players signed for Alfa, you may have your work cut out

For some alienness at it's finest have a look at Nico R's latest video...a lobby of aliens racing the Gr3 M3 on sports softs...no assists apart from abs and a grid start. It's a track where a line in one corner can make 3-4 seconds difference. It's a shame you can't load in their ghosts. I normally end up around 8:10-8:15 on the 24hr lap. Obviously lapping takes a long time to pull that time down, too. I've someone on my friends list using the same car (M3) who is at 8:07. I'm normally a bit faster than him so obviously there's more to come if I can find the time.
Watching the 7:50 laps in the Supra. I can't drive the car in the same way yet. I need to spend some time to learn it. Any wheelspin and you lose massive amounts of time, or spin/crash.

Is it me, or is that Gr3 Lambo in the new circuit experience an utter pita? Tried a couple of the new Tokyo layouts and enjoyed them, can't see them being good for SR though
It was horrible. It wouldn't turn in and then would oversteer. Managed a 1.47:5 over the lap but decided against another go. I wanted to race on the new tracks and use the F50, P1 GTR and Datsun 240 to see how they drove. Disappointed with the F50 as it didn't want to turn in and that was on Sport Softs.I can't "feel" any connection between car and track now, never mind sense traction. I was hoping the Huracan was just set to be a pig in the circuit experience but it looks like that's not the case.
I'd done a handful of laps in a number of cars at Interlagos on Monday to test. Cannot get close to those lap times now.
Some, like the R8, are just spearing me off into the wall. When it goes it's sudden and big. There's no physical clue as to what is happening when using a DS4. Will have to start running TCS and CSA again I think.
Kills the game for me as the updates they've made through the life of it have got to a point where I can't make back the difference. Historic ghosts etc are useless in terms of setting laps but good references.
I've lost two seconds around Interlagos in total as updates have been made. In this instance it looks like it's an absolute difference relative to the fastest laps, too. I'd got back to 1.5-2% off pole. I think this puts me nearer 3%.
I forget who is using wheel/DS4 but would be interested to know how much of a difference you're seeing as a reference point.

I'm using a Logitech G29 and apart from ABS, I don't use any aids...but when I did the Gr3 cars around Catalunya a couple of weeks ago, I just couldn't keep any of the cars I used on the road. They understeered, oversteered and were just horrid to drive. Since then I've not touched sport mode and just do random races with the Arcade section.I'd done a handful of laps in a number of cars at Interlagos on Monday to test. I use a pad, and find nearly all mid-engined cars are unstable and difficult to drive at a limit, especially the NSX, which is pathetic as its also 4wd.
I just find them more twitchy and difficult, fairly real I suppose, and I'm sure I could get round it with a setting.
But I just tend to use other types instead.
It's a nonsense though as the 911's are fine, explain that idiocy?

I only did circuit experience yesterday and 10 laps in the Scirocco, I was a couple of 10ths off but that's easy with that combo, I did spend a couple of hrs in Kie25's lobby trying the new tracks in the group cars, they all felt about the same, I tried the 240z and it was fun, although the FFB felt really strong on my G29.
Not sure how using a ds4 to apply some brake would help, you can just apply a bit of brake with your foot I do wonder if PD are trying to close the gap between average players and aliens, or ds4 and wheel, maybe they just want a more realistic tyre model so they can stop using x15 tyre wear

There's a vid on GT planet. Basically resting the DS4 on the ground so the button is sending a signal but not beyond the deadzone. It screws the ABS (light flashes constantly) and somehow the car is faster. Many of the top replays show this now and that's what the reference to controller switching was about in the update. Though it hasn't fixed it.
CSA has helped a bit but still a bit off timewise, frustratingly.
911s? Yup!

Evening all.
I've just got back into gaming after a long break. I treated myself to a nice Oled telly and as my boy was upgrading to a PS4 Pro I've bought his PS4 with a few games just to get the feel of gaming again.
I've only just scratched the surface of the game and I am really enjoying it thus far. I was surprised just how much content there is, it takes a while to get used to it all. I'm just doing campaign at the mo to try and get some experience and a feel for it, that and a bit of car buying and livery purchasing on the few cars I do have.
Playing on the pad at mo as that's all I've ever known but may consider a wheel in the future. Once I've got some more practice under my belt I will look into the online side of it if there are some decent groups out there to join?
The only gripe I have so far is when in the campaign mode, whatever car I use the great big number comes up emblazoned on the car. Can this be removed or is it just a campaign thing that because you've been allocated a race number it has to be on the car?
Is this the same in online stuff?
TIA
