Enjoying Bathurst,

I was worries it would a SR killer, but working hard to get a S SR rating has helped - players are much more respectful!

I don't qualify well, so work on setting a good race pace and non-stopping. The last laps are always good fun as I normally have a pack of drivers on fresh tyres catching me up!

I'm certain that no stopping is the quickest race to run.

I watched Tidgney's stream last night and he did a no stopper on soft tyres but I can't remember if he used the Corvette or the Nissan GTR?

Anything front engined does well, i've been using the Aston Vantage or the BMW M3 GTR (11)

I start on the Hards, if you look after them they get to 8 laps with no major drop off!

I think track position is key over the mountain - borderline impossible to cleanly overtake a well driven car.

Exactly - I went from 9th to finishing 3rd by not stopping. If you're in a questionable lobby you'd get punted, but racing with clean drivers, this isn't a problem.

Really? I made one ages ago. Search for Pistonheads or just look me up, jurbie72, it should be visible amongst my decals.

Here is a PH smiley!

I have to say Im still enjoying the game and its the only disk I have in the PS4. Its an equal mix of driving and liveries for me. I dont do much sport mode, My times is spent more in one off events and championship organised on GTPlanet.

My latest efforts.

Haven't had the chance to play much recently. But thought I would do a couple of races last night as I liked the look of GR3 on the Nurb GP circuit.

Only did 2 races and somehow managed to have 2 clean ones.

On the second I managed my first win. Started 4th and was up to first just after the up hill esses. I've never concentrated so hard on anything in my life as I did on hitting every breaking point. Managed to maintain a 1.5 second gap to second until pos 2 and 3 tooke each other out on the last lap. Leaving me to relax a little.

Got it, cheers! I was using the search function, which would only date back so far. Although it seems to bring up a couple now.

I bought a VR unit yesterday on a bit of a whim (I'm on gardening leave for 6 weeks and bored witless).

Whilst its a bit of an entertaining novelty (and the elevation changes are felt far more using the VR unit) the motion sickness it creates is terrible. I felt like crap for about two hours after a 30 minute session and ended up having to go for a lie down. I haven't dared to try Dirt Rally with it yet as that must be loads worse.

Do you get used to it after some time (like being on a ship) or have I wasted a lot of money?

You do get used to it after a while, so work your way up by increasing the amount of time you play.

Get the aim controller and Firewall zero hour, really good fun!

I assume there's some sort of manual 'box/ABS bullst type glitch on race C this week? People I am always quicker than are two seconds faster.

Starting to get into the online side of this game now.

Massive improvement with the new penalty system. I've noticed a lot less idiots barging cars out of the way, knowing if they do they'll suffer an automatic slow down at the next penalty point, as opposed to being able to work it off elsewhere during the race.

Penalty system is better, and the manual shifter advantage has been negated in sport mode.

I've only been playing the Campaign mode as I was on 32K DR points and was punted so much that I have gone down to 23K DR meaning I'm back on B rated DR. Online racing is something I just can't be a:cendoredbiggrin with and would rather watch Kie, Tidgney et al steaming then play the game at the moment.

I noticed that the shifting was different within Campaign mode too as it didn't matter how slow or fast I shifted, I'd always be missing gears. At first I thought it was a problem with my G29 shifter but it's definitely the game as have no problems with Assetto Corse or Project Cars 2.

Shifting with a wheel set up has been nurfed to make it slower, rather than speeding up the shifting of semi-auto system in the game to match the faster method. The change was part of the last update.

Literally just read that on GT Planet. I can fully understand that as people were quicker with a shifter in certain races. After last update I was using the shifter within the arcade section and was just constantly missing gears. It was horrible but then again, I was missing the odd gear or two before the update. Will update tonight and see what it's like in campaign/arcade mode/s.

HAHA I also just read the one saying it will be going back to how it was.
