I find covering the pedals with a bin bag cuts down on pedal cleaning frequency. Most of my online racing is with these guys https://gbrcracing.com/ it has a nice club race feel to it, next weeks Spa and Catalunya dailies look good though smile.
Good idea that but it looks like the throttle is misbehaving again so it could be the electrical connections which may need a proper clean. The other thing I may do is swap the clutch and throttle pedals over (and the springs again) but not sure if all pedals are exactly the same.

When I clean my pedals I use electrical contact cleaner on the potentiometers and silicon oil on the black plastic gears, I dry the pots with a hair dryer, In my experience if you're getting spiking with the throttle it's the pots, if its sticking with the brake its the gears, make sure the gear isn't touching the base, keeping them covered seems to help.

Cool. Thanks for the advice bud. Will do this over the weekend.

On my heavily used G25 pedals i swapped over the clutch and throttle, they were the same (bar the spring).
Had bad issues with spiking tho, a little compressed air into the pots but electrical contact cleaner didn't work all that well as it seemed to leave some residue so i had to actually take the pots apart for a proper clean. Even that only bought me a little extra time, i think eventually ther tracks wear out.
But on your g29 it's probably just dust rather than wear.

I did use an air spray but I think I'll have to take the potentiometer apart for a thorough clean. Will check the contacts also but I think I will swap the clutch and throttle pedals around as I rarely use the clutch unless I'm on AC or PC2. Means I'll have to swap the springs again.

Swapped over the clutch and throttle pedals (and springs again) and it has just transformed the game for me. Driving a lot better with more confidence under braking and applying the throttle...and no spiking smile

I've used the clutch to make sure it works and despite the spring being to soft, it works fine.

Now to TRY and beat LH's times.

Have they messed with the system for calculating SR?

I ask because on the dailies, I seem to be getting the SR down arrow whenever I've got a car behind me. I'm not weaving either, just taking the racing line.

Currently trying to rebuild my SR as it was at S, eventually went down to E today after this random docking of SR points. Then of course I get bundled in with the morons at E grade who seem to think it's destruction derby and I keep getting taken out and trundling round at the back afterwards. I'm by no means a great driver on it, normal finish position is usually between 6-11th but I race as clean as I can. Occasionally I'll make the odd cockup but nothing malicious. But because I keep getting taken out and finishing last, I've gone from B/S to C/B to D/E within a the space of a day! Got back up to D/C now but it's tricky with the idiots.

Also had my first properly bullst penalty today. In the Super Formula race at Catalunya, got a 1 second lead, then out of nowhere coming up the right hander onto the back straight where the penalty line is, 2nd decides to go full speed into the back of me, luckily direct hit and not on the side so I keep it pointing the right way, even if one wheel is on the gravel. You know what's coming next; 0.5 second penalty for ignoring track limits. What's worse is I still managed to finish 2nd but lost by 0.447 seconds!

The penalty system has been a mess for a while now. I've had people spin off in front of me and, as I've nowhere to go I end up hitting them only to get a 5sec penalty. Recently, in my primary account, my SR went from 99 to 33! I ended up making a secondary account to start again and I seem to be in some really good races.

The SR arrow down is because the person behind has tapped you even though you might not notice it but even that's a damn joke of a system.

The only good thing about the penalty system is the penalty zone where you're forced to serve it. Other than that, it's a shambles.

I watched Kie's stream where he was racing at Catalunya and there's no way in hell I'll be taking part in that wreckfest. I'll stick to Race B at Spa.

I did 6 or so races at Spa last night (B/S) and it was surprisingly clean and really good fun.

Enjoyed getting back into this with the Brazil race last week, had some really good races once I was back up to speed.

Don't think the SF cars is my bag, so going to be doing Spa this week. Can't seem to string together consistent laps so the races are hard work, especially as my time has seemed to put me above where I would expect with regard to driver rankings.

Oh, and how annoying are those bollard things?! Ruined a couple of laps by bouncing over those and the front end coming off the ground! laugh

I did three (also B/S rated) and apart from someone divebombing past me to take someone else out, the races have been really clean. First used the Hyundai and then the Lambo as they're the only to Gr4 cars I have which I know would be good there.

As stated earlier, this is on my second account so I'm using the gift cars rather than buying them. The Lambo understeers but that's easily remedied by putting the brake balance to the rear on number 3.

I've learned as well now, stay away from the Catalunya SF race! That's where I seemed to get docked the most, I'll stick to Spa for the week. Turns out the TT Cup is a hidden gem; I'd been sticking with the Aston as that's what I use in the Manufacturer Series and qualifying with a 2:33.1, went back to the Porsche and got 2:32.3 and then thought what the heck, I'll try the Audi even though FWD put me off a bit. Bam, 2:31.1!
Have worked my ratings back up to C/B and had 2 podiums with the TT today, and always did reasonably well with the R8 in Gr3 events so next year I'll be swapping from Aston to Audi!

I was thinking of using the Peugeot but can only imagine how bad the understeer could be, although it is rapid in a straight line. The Lambo I'm using is 4wd and that understeers quite a bit. I think I qualified at 2.29.7 or thereabouts but can't remember. I feel absolutely shattered so not sure I'll jump on tonight but depending on how I feel, I may try to get a better time...and overall result.

I've been using the Pug, it's ok as long as you're patient with the throttle, it struggles a bit mid corner against the McLarens but it outguns everything on the straights smile

I may have to give the Pug a go during the practice to see how I fare. It seems the Jag or McLaren are the OP cars at the moment.

It can be fun to use, it just feels wrong passing a McLaren on the straight in a Peugeot smile

Having mixed fortunes at Spa, I've got a decent qualifying time but I can't match that in the race. I end up either being cautious to avoid penalties or go too much and end up picking some up and it seems really hard to gain ground again. Need more practice, the races seem pretty good though and bar a few ambitious moves/missed braking points it hasn't been too bad (B/S).

Did three races at Spa yesterday, the first using the Lambo and the others with the Pug.

The difference in braking ability on those two cars is night and day. The Lambo is awful and ended up clouting the driver in front at the Bus Stop but the peugeot was great on the brakes and even in the slipstream it was possible to brake late.

Glad I gained over 2K DR points too.

The slipstream is catching me out a lot. I'm not that confident on the brakes into there or the chicane at the top of the circuit, when I'm following someone I always miss my marker and end up going too deep.

What's the consensus on the warm-up session, does it do anything car/tyre temp wise?
