Single Player story line looks like it has potential. Looking forward to seeing more about multiplayer, although we appear to have hero characters from the whole known timeline.
Space battles? I hope so

bought the first one ,bored after about 5 plays .
I have no Idea what it is about Battlefront 1 but after the wow factor died away I just grew sooooooooooo bored of it rapido. Also I am a casual gamer so I usually get left behind but I usually maintain a 0.65 -1.0 k/d ratio but I was left behind and totally under powered very quickly in this game which lead to a lot of frustration. Add to that the fact that what little joystick support, accidentally in the game at launch, just disappeared in one of the patches to leave no joystick support for flying leading me to drop this game pronto.I will wait till Xmas or longer before I buy this, I just need to see what people really think after the hype dies down. Though I will admit the single player campaign has me very interested.
10 planets on launch. Was it 4 last time?
I'm more interested in the single player, which I'll be watching closely for updates.
I won't buy it at launch, avoided doing that with EA games for a while now, since the launch of BF4.
I actually enjoyed battlefront when I had my PS4, I didn't play a massive amount of hours as it felt a lot more casual, I also found it fairly easy to play once most weapons were unlocked. The grind to get them was fairly easy too.

I bought the first one a year after it was released for £20 as I wasn't going to pay £40-£50 for a game that was so light on content and it was the right choice. I played it for a few weeks so got my monies worth but would have been peeved if I shelled out full price for it.
The gameplay and progression just aren't deep enough, most of the guns play exactly the same way and it lacks any sense of tactical play with 95% of games devolving into a death-match grind fest with lifespans measured in seconds. If it wasn't Star Wars it wouldn't have even lasted that long.
The new one having a single player campaign this time is very encouraging but they need to also add some more depth to the multiplayer as that is where the majority of time will be spent, the Battlefield-lite nature of it might be OK for a while but it definitely lacks longevity which is surprising for a DICE game but I suppose they were working to a certain remit to make it as accessible as possible.
Oh and the free X wing VR demo was absolutely amazing and almost worth the price of admission alone, they really need to hurry up and develop a full version of that game. In fact if they could make all of BF2 in VR I'd be their on day one.

Except that Battlefield one is Battlefront with a WW1 skin and I tired of that as quickly as i did with battlefront. The ridiculous grind to get weapons in Battlefield 1 is a joke which pushes casual players out.J-D-Stagpump said:

Battlefield 1 has also been dumbed down a bit compared to previous Battlefield games but nowhere near as much as Battlefront. The grind to get weapons is there in every modern FPS game, the trick is to keep the progression steady and not make the later guns ridiculously OP so that casual gamers are destroyed. I wish they'd just stop this dumbing down to fit the lowest common denominator and make games which actually require some skill and tactical nuance to play. I know games cost a lot to develop these days so they need to try to reach the widest audience possible but making it too easy risks alienating the hardcore fanbase too. I wouldn't say any of the previous Battlefield\Battlefront games were too complicated though so I'm not sure why they feel the need to dumb then down anyway.

To be fair the tactics in WW1 were rather limited for a time lolI wish they'd just stop this dumbing down to fit the lowest common denominator and make games which actually require some skill and tactical nuance to play. I really enjoy BF1 much more than any of the modern crap, its properly hard on hardcore as well and with a good team using proper team work it is very fun.
Read last night that EA have learnt from battlefront 1 and have changed their approach.
Battlefront 2 will not have a season pass and will instead have free map packs and added content over the course of its life. This should keep player numbers up as they found those players without season passes just faded away as less and less people played the original maps. This has me interested again.

For £60 I should bloody well hope so.Daston said:

My son and I still play the original with the season pass added when it was on offer I don't feel too stiffed considering how much we've played it. There was a definite gap in the players on original maps and the DLC though as you say.So, for the first time since before Xmas a friend and I fired up Battlefront 1 tonight and just tried to enjoy it for the fun of it and you know, it was pretty good fun. It still has it's issues and if you can take the expectation/let down factor out of it, it is a game I can enjoy. The fact that 95% of my deaths were 1 shots from star cards, in particular the Pulse Rifle, means the core gameplay is broken IMO.
Will I buy Battlefront 2?? Given the single player campaign and the "No Season Pass" promise then yeah I probably will. It won't be a day one purchase though. BF4 and Battlefront 1 taught me all I need to know about day 1 EA quality.
