Nightfall is pretty easy this week mate.

If you are going for a speed run for the Rat Boy exotic, a good tip that lew read online is to clear the enemies from each area before activating the rings.

This worked a treat last night. Had exactly 10 mins left as we got to the last boss, 7 mins 10 secs left when we completed it.
I was on with Grunt tonight doing my second run of the Nightfall. We made such a bungle of the first time around that I actually got the 'mission failed' message on my screen as the timer reached zero but then the boss collapsed and died as a last round hit him and we got the loot.

On the second run of the night we had 07:30 left on the clock! Did quite a lot better then...

Got given this as a birthday present earlier this week. Is it worth it? How much is it like the other ones?

Otherwise I have the gift receipt and may take to to game and swap for PUBG or Forza 7 preorder.

I never bothered with any of the TKK etc DLC,

My issue is that my daughter was born 5 weeks ago, so I don't get the time to sit down an put the hours in grinding like on the last game.

Is it like #1 where you need to have friends online to do a lot of the content?

I still haven't had a chance to go at the raid, the pleasure gardens section sounds st though and I haven't heard any positive feedback about it at all. I've watched some videos of it and it looks so boring, the glitches and bugs are pretty poor too. I'd have thought after Oryx's teleporting ogres they'd have tested for bugs a bit more diligently.

Bungie seem to have realised that the gorgon section of Vault of Glass sucked and that everyone just cheesed it by jumping over the rocks to dodge the gorgons, so they engineered another crap stealth section and fixed it this time so there's no easy solution, just a load of glitchy crap that you're forced to endure.

Is this any good chaps? I spent a decent amount of time on D1 but didn't really get obsessed with it like some on here. I seem to be in a bit of a lull with nothing to play so is this any better than D1 or just more of the same?

Also it's been out a few weeks and I bought D1 a couple of months after release and always felt like I was playing catch-up trying to level up, get the must have weapons and missing out on Raids. Am I already too late to join the party for D2?

I've progressed quite well on my own with the odd bit of help from a weirdo called RoyalPenisHead or something.

You'll play a certain amount of catch up with the better players, but there's a lot of content in this game so it's up to you how much time you want to put into it.

I work a 65 hour week, do 3 gym sessions, ride my mountain bike, put two kids to sleep and still manage 1 or 2 hours a night.

I was certain I wouldn't be able to put the time into D2 that I put into D1, but the draw of the new game has been very strong, I'm really enjoying it.

It feels like a continuation of where D1 finished (and after the DLC and additional content and tweaks I felt D1 finished in a brilliant place, compared to how it started out). It's a great game, good (but very very easy) single player story. But this unlocks all the other content which is a bit more challenging. The extra content available after completing the story are good. I can certainly see it keeping hooked for a long while.

Not done many strikes. Not even sure how many there are? But not finding them to be quite as frantic as some of the best in D1. I want another Omnigol or Archon Priest (before his nerf).

With D1 I was generally behind folk on here in terms of light levels, as I just didn't get the game time to keep up, but I found LFG sites gave me loads of opportunity to do Raids, etc. with other folk at the same level as me - so don't worry about keeping pace.

Extended yet again so it won’t finish until 22:00. Seriously they need to sort their st out. I understand the need for server maintenance but it been down every Monday and it’s been extended twice out of the 3 times.

It wouldn’t be quite so annoying if you could at least run a few quests or patrols etc, let the game cache the results until the servers come back online.

Don't they take it down to update the game world? Ie with the location of Xur etc. It's also still near launch so there will naturally be more to fix/balance.

It went down the other day for a 1gb update to add the factions in and some of the new activities on planets that are linked to faction tokens.

We had a good crack at the raid last night, through the gauntlet very quickly and credit to Rage for having not done it or watched any videos but picking it up very quickly, we only had a couple of wipes before we got it down. The bath house was very quick too, maybe a wipe or two there before we beat that too. We were getting close to finishing the dogs before we had to lose a few members, a few of us could comfortably kill our dogs in one phase, but we maybe need to look at swapping our target dogs over so our highest DPS characters can attack the furthest target dogs. I am confident we will beat it tonight, then Callus looks relatively simple and with average light in excess of 300 across the team I think we should be fairly comfortable for surviving and damaging the boss.

Having the right guys in the team makes such a difference when it comes to listening, understanding and staying calm under pressure, which is ultimately all you need to win in the raid.
