You get the bonus of every satchel, trinket and trophy crafted whether you wear them or not. its the same with the upgraded bandolier/holsters. You still have the bandolier bonus even if you don't wear it.

It's well worth doing all the satchels as early as you can, as the jump between standard (5 items), crafted upgrade (10 items) and the every satchel (99 items!) is mental.

Also, you can only donate to pearson for crafting stuff he will use, I sell all other perfect skins to the trapper, as once you have sold them they unlock the various suits the trapper sells.
Thanks! That's really useful. Do you get more money selling to the Trapper? I tend to only trail over to the Trapper if I have legendary pelts or happen to be nearby anyway. Otherwise I've been trying to source the satchel pelts or donating them for the camp kitty.

Satchels are what I am going to focus on now, while trying to keep the Story rolling.

Has anyone played online yet? Is it good? I'm trying to stay off that and complete the single player before I go online.

Never you mind

Just started. Spawn - get head shotted, spawn - get lasso'd, spawn - do some hunting - get shot while skinning. Can be quite good fun though when not getting griefed.

Ha, yeah that's kind of how I pictured it would be.

With so many players owning this game, I'm pretty sure it'll be a baptism of fire when I eventually start playing it online.

I've been banging away trying to do the same, my second run-through is a lot slower paced.

I'll be damned if I can find any Badger, let alone 3* badgers. I found the Jackalope in the last one faster than I can find a single pissing Badger in RDR2.

Never you mind

Check near the Braithwaite manner or there is an oil thing between the A and the R in Heart Lands. Remember badgers are nocturnal so hunting them at night time is best.

I’ve only seen one badger in the game so far and it was a one star. Hadn’t even thought about the nocturnal thing.

A badger and a bison (there were loads and now I’m looking for one they’re nowhere to be seen) are the two I need most.

Well, I bought a PS4 before Xmas to play this game and the PS4 came with Spiderman.
I had a go of Spiderman for a day or two and the PS4 fan was off it’s tits, so I sold it.

I have a bundle coming on Tuesday so I’m looking forward to playing this game now smile

I've been working my way through the legendary animals and getting hacked off with the long as journey's back to a trapper to sell.
Then realised that there are actually some more trappers dotted around that i'd not previously discovered!

Last couple of evenings I've been wandering about still looking to find the last couple of pelts I need for the satchels. I can't find bloody Bison or Badgers anywhere. I've trawled all over the place and have seen none, except when I was in the middle of a story mission last night and saw a herd of about a dozen Bison, so I marked the map and have been back three times now and not one to be seen. Badgers? Who knows. I think all that I need after those is an Iguana, but I'll google that I guess.

Had a wee bit of a jump happen last night though. I bailed out of wasting time on the pelts and did a couple of the story missions (I'm still only in Chapter 3 as I've spent ages doing nothing in particular). I've only ever had $400-500 max at any time other than a couple of brief moments with more, but last night I netted about $3000 from two back-to-back missions. Both were brilliant fun too. Really well done and not in any way a slog to do. So I cleared my two bounties as one of them was preventing me from doing other story missions in West Elizabeth and kept causing me grief, then I was given a Lancaster in the next mission, which is awesome.

I was starting to lose interest having wasted hours on these pelts, but those two story missions took me from about to turn it off feeling like I'd maybe got a bit bored of the game, to feeling like I really want to get back on and progress the Story. Still loving it and that's shown me how much there is still to do in this game.

Bison: The first of the debt collection missions you go to some ranch near Emerald Ranch. There is a watering hole/pond thing in like a hollow. I've always found them there. You need something high powered to take them out though. Bow with improved arrows or the sniper rifle.

Badgers as mentioned above are always near that oil derrick in New Hanover go at night time. Found 2 perfects there.

On my 2nd play through, I missed so much first time around.

Completed the main story last night...

beer

certainly was eventful! Ive taken my time on 1st playthrough, around 75% complete with Epilogue to go ... the main things I haven't done are the challenges and most of the collection things... got most of the side missions done I think ...

Has anyone found a decent amount of cigarette cards yet?

Cheers for the tips on the Bison and Badgers. I'll keep trying, but it was becoming so time-consuming I got a bit fed up. I've found all sorts of other stuff, but yet to see an Iguana or more than that one solitary "good" badger I have managed to get.

On the topic of cigarette cards... I have started making sure I smoke a few packs so that I can collect any I find. What do you do with them though? You can sell them to the Fence, is this worth doing or do you then lose that card in terms of having collected it? So far I've just hung onto them all as I want to try and complete at least some of the sets.

I've collected quite a few but I keep finding a card from a new set though! How many cards are there?!

Spent a few real-world evenings hunting Badgers by the Oil thing - saw exactly 1, 1 star useless. Many batches of bait, etc.

Got pissed off, found another location via YT and set off at warp speed (well, for a horse) - now it's SOP for me to ride, varmit rifle in hand and shooting anything small that moves - it's made getting lots of 3* rabbits really easy.

I'm in the middle of no where, far from supposed Badger locations , 3 varmit sized blobs moving at speed - bam, bam bam - a 2 star rabbit, a 3 star and a 3 star Badger. I hope the prick only needs one, 'cause I'm not doing that again.
