...I just need to find another spare 800 hours now....
You're still welcome to pop in and say hi anytime even if you are only going to be an 800 hour casual
My pre-ordered copy is a physical disc and will be delivered to Anton's house (£35 for the vanilla game is too much of a saving to ignore!) so, I'm going to have to stay at his place the night before and wait for the delivery. Oh, the hardship

Im pre-ordered and ready to go again, also went digital this time.
It's been nice to park up D1 and play other games as i was just playing it out of habit rather than enjoyment, from what ive seen D2 looks amazing, im suprised the Crucible is going to 4v4 though, being a dedicated next gen release i kind of expected a bigger roster than smaller for PvP modes.

Ha ha! Funnily enough I probably am casual compared to a bunch of the players even if you are only going to be an 800 hour casual

I agree with the other post about D1 as well. It had become a habit and it's been good to get into some other games.
Excited about this particularly to many, many trip grenade fails
In the meantime, I recommend you download Killing Floor 2. It is free on PSN this month.
It is a PvE, wave shooter, online (squads) or off-line and different classes with customisation. The usual stuff:-

It's quite fun/brainless (especially for free!) and a way for you n00bs to reconnect etc.

Soooooooo.......
- I liked the "homecoming" mission from the start which introduced the Red Legion and the assortment of weapon types.
- Couldn't quite get to grips with the weapons system but I suspect this is more than I am used to the system in D1.
- Couple of things bugged me though, my ghost got kicked over the edge (and then I did), plus the traveller got taken (or whatever it was) so how come when I started the strike I had the ghost and my guardian powers which come from light? I thought the first strike would be about getting that back but no. I suspect the answer is that the beta doesn't deal with this.
- The strike was fun, some new stuff and I like the new dog like things. The different guns all felt different and I liked the way the scout rifle kept firing automatically when pulling the trigger.
- The arcstrider super was cool.
- I liked the look and feel of the pve strike, all those moaning about lack of 4k must have much better eyes than me as I thought it looked great.
- Didn't try pvp as this isn't my thing
- Disappointed that the social space wasn't available
- Ammo drops seemed pretty low
- Super took ages to charge
All in all, a fun hour or so this evening, I now need the full launch.

Just had a quick go, all feels very familiar which I think is a good thing. Graphics look great on the Pro and the weapons feel good. I chose a Warlock this time instead of my D1 primary Titan, I think I'll probably do the same for the full game.
Had a quick go at PVP which was enjoyable, will have a go at the strike tomorrow. I'm not going to spend too much time on the beta as I've still got a massive pile of games to work through but I'm really looking forward to the full game.

I think I was one of maybe three people on my friends list who started with a Titan, the Sentinel subclass. Made it through the whole "Homecoming" mission without knowing how to throw the darn Captain America shield (yep, I didn't read the instructions!). When I did get to throw it whilst in PvP later on, you seemingly could only do so once??
Disappointed that you can't re-run that mission again once you've run it the first time (unless you choose another character). I'd like to use that mission to get to grips with some of the mechanics / weapons, etc
Supers took ages to charge as did grenades. Looked very nice to my eyes (non Pro, normal HD)
The railgun is rubbish in PvP, takes far too long to charge up to be useful. We all agreed the "Nightshade" pulse rifle is pretty good. The Sweet Business exotic auto rifle is OK, but it spins up like a minigun which you have to account for. I liked the new grenade launchers, but it's actually quite easy to miss with them
Gonna run through the story mission as a warlock and hunter for the sake of it and will happily give the strike another few goes with friends, but erm, there isn't a lot to keep to you around for more than a day or two is there?
Social space (The Farm) is available to explore for one hour only on Sunday from 6pm UK time

Well that was....erm....interesting!
Basically, I never got past the first mission. In fact, I never got past half way through the first mission. I'd get to the bit at the plaza, defend that for a bit and then the game would tell me to go with Ikora so, off I'd go through towards where the speaker hangs out in D1. Past the sweeper bot, through the doors.....and then....nothing. No Ikora, no enemies, doors already open. No matter what I tried, after about 30 seconds or so, it would kick me from the mission and give me the error: Moose.
I tried wiping, I tried all 3 characters, all sub-classes. Tried accepting an invite from someone else to skip the mission, no joy. I tried deleting and re-downloading the Beta (yup, all 12.6gb). Same exact problem. Tried again this morning ,no difference.

What I did see of the first mission (at least 20 times) looked very good. It ran extremely smoothly and felt like a graphical upgrade from D1. I didn't much like the new weapon slot system but, that may just be a hangover from being so familiar with the D1 loadouts, time will tell. Grenades and supers recharge rate seemed laughably slow which will probably be great for PvP but, sucks balls for PvE. I did notice at one point, my grenade seemed to go from about 20% charged to full in an instant. Not sure if it was a pickup or a glitch though.
Hopefully it'll be solved by tonight so I can see a bit more of what's on offer.
